While this was our first time in St. Lucia it was our third vacation with Sandals, and we were not disappointed. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained. We enjoyed every restaurant on property, especially Kelly's dockside. -amazing that you do not need a reservation for this restaurant, one of the joys of a smaller resort. Soy was also a favorite for sushi!
The daily entertainment staff have great energy – thank you, Ron, Albert, Germaine and CJ. When ever we had a question or need it was handled in true Sandals style, expediently and beyond our expectations. At this resort even management cared for our needs. From Paul the food and beverage director and Lisa the assistant manager to Rita at the bar and Francis and Deloris in the dining room - we were spoiled constantly. These are just some of the staff that will keep us coming back to Sandals.
The only disappointment was the beach, however, they are at the mercy of nature and seaweed. After a particularly bad storm one night, even Paul, Lisa and Kurt, head of guest services, were out raking the seaweed so that guests could enjoy the beach. If you enjoy snorkeling you will need to go to The Grande for clear water.
Being the smallest of the three Sandals resorts on St Lucia, the nightlife is quieter, however, there is always entertainment. The Irie Bar Is a great hang out. If you prefer a pumping nightlife we would suggest one of the bigger resorts.
Having always stayed at Butler level in the past this year we went Club Level with the concierge, this service was top-notch and we did not feel as though we dropped a level at all. We had a beachfront walk-out room that was lovely, comfortable bed and modern vanity and bathroom areas. We had an AC leak one morning and the repair man was there before we were back from breakfast, how's that for service? We would highly recommend Club level at any Sandals resort.

We stayed at the Halcyon in March, for my birthday. Not impressed with the resort at all! The choice of the restaurants is limited and the night entertainment was rather boring.
We spent most of the time at the Grande and La Toc and I regret that I hadn't booked there in the first place.
We had an ocean walk out room, but never swam in the ocean once as the water was rough. The view would've been nice if there wasn't a massage table right in front of our room. I personally didn't enjoy looking at somebody being massaged, especially when I noticed that one of the masseuses was wiping her nose with the sheet covering the client.
The service was very slow. The club staff wasn't helpful, they either couldn't answer a question or would suggest we asked elsewhere. For example, they couldn't tell us about the spa service in the Grande or La Toc. The representative simply told me to look it up online. When I tried to use their iPad I could not log on, so she said I have to look it up on my iPhone. After my husband expressed his frustration, she called the La Toc spa and handed over the phone to me.
My birthday gift from the Halcyon was a piece of cake that was brought to my room. When I opened up the lid and was about to taste it, I noticed that a strawberry on the cake was moldy.
To cut the long story short - I would not return to this place again, because it it' s not worth the money we've paid for it. You can have more fun, better service and better beach in Dominican for half what you pay in Halcyon, Santa Lucia.
P.S. And don't go there unless you are 70 years old.

We just returned from our holiday at this resort and if you have any doubts, they will likely be unfounded. The staff is very friendly, always ready to help in whatever way they can. While this is the smallest of the 3 Sandals on the island, you'll have plenty of opportunity to either join in the festivities in the main pool or find some quiet sanctuary on the fabulous beach or at the quiet pool.
We would like to give a few shout outs to some outstanding employees that really enhanced our experience. Valeria was our assigned housekeeper that just couldn't do enough for us and my mother's biggest disappointment was not being able to say goodbye as unbeknownst to us, it was Valeria's day off on our last day there!!
The onsite gym is spotless, has excellent equipment and I took full advantage of this but most of all, I'd like to give a sincere thanks to their fitness specialist,Germiane, who was always willing to provide helpful suggestions or some necessary encouragement!
The grounds are beautiful and the island's topography is amazing - I would definitely recommend this resort to others looking for a pampered, catered to oasis!

Something is just "off" about this resort. The property grounds are beautiful, but the customer service is quite lacking. Upon our arrival, we were told the resort was "overbooked" and that our room was not available the first night. (I made our reservation 330 days in advance.) When I questioned as to how it could not be available when I booked so early, the response I received was "I don't know." Supposedly to compensate for the inconvenience, they were putting us up in a higher category room the first night. This room was at the back of the property where the road noise was not pleasant to say the least. The room was obviously not used much as it had a terrible musty smell to it. As for a higher category, it had to be the lowest level room possible. We had to go to the front desk the next day to find out the status of our actual room. They wanted to move our belongings without even having it prepared since it wasn't yet ready & would not be until the afternoon. There were limited restaurant choices on site. The pier restaurant was inconsistent in the food preparation and serving amounts. They also supposedly had a "dress code", which they did not follow for their "reunion" guests. My husband wore a collared shirt the first several evenings with long pants & leather loafers. Upon seeing several other diners in shorts & flip flops and far more casual attire, he opted to not wear a colored shirt one evening. He still wore long dress jeans with a leather belt and loafers. It was a dark colored shirt, not a t-shirt. He was turned away by the host & told he would need to go change in order to dine with me there. The following evening, seated beside us were (2) couples who wore the tacky "Reunion Week" t-shirts they were given. The men were even wearing swim trunks & sandals! Not sure what kind of an atmosphere they are really trying to go for here... Dinner was an all night production with rather slow service. I don't mind waiting if the meal is worth it. The quality of food, however, was inconsistent as well. My husband enjoyed an excellent meal one night, but the next it was either over cooked or under. We actually enjoyed the food at the Italian restaurant on the property better. When we went to go back a second time, it was closed for the evening. As for the rooms, our correct room was nice. It was in the 200 block. This was a main walkway for new arrivals, however was away from the road noise. We left our room daily, from 9:30 to about 3:00 and housekeeping never made it during that time other than twice the whole week. When they did, they removed all hand towels and wash clothes, so we asked a maid with a cart, when we saw one to give us some. I did enjoy the luncheon fare at the beach Bistro. The serving staff their was the best of the resort. (Hats off to Miranda!) The front desk staff let us down again at departure. At the time of check out, we asked if our departure shuttle was still at 11:30. Without even looking at anything, she said yes. It was 10:40, so we just waited in the lobby area along with all the other departures, which began at 11. At noon, we and another couple were the last ones remaining. When asked what our room number was, they then informed us that our shuttle was not departing until 2 pm due to a flight delay. Why did they not tell us this when we specifically asked at the desk? We were dressed and ready for the plane, not for the 80 degree temperatures to "hang out" for 4 hours that day. Minus the start and finish, it was an okay trip. We have had far better experiences with other resorts, so I am sad to say it was our first and last visit to Sandals.

Really the single most important thing to me on a vacation like this is the beach. I usually get into the water upon arrival and practically stay there until it's time to go home. The beach at this resort is quite terrible. It's brown, murky and uninviting. The water is not clear at all. I was sooooo disappointed. We spent very little time there. I think Negril beaches are 10 out of10, This beach is a 2 out of 10.

That being said, the resort is pretty good, but overall I felt that Halcyon didn't have a feeling of elegance or luxury which I had been expecting for my first Sandals stay. I thought the food in Soy, Kelly's and Mario's was very good and we enjoyed all the meals we had there. The food in the buffet is average at best so we ate only breakfast there for the most part.

The service was pretty good at Halcyon. Sometimes it took a little while for a staff member to warm up to us, but mostly everyone was great.

Our room was a little small and underwhelming but we enjoyed the patio and the sweet cat named Lucy that kept us company every day. We were on the ground floor and the noise coming from upstairs sometimes sounded like there was a stomping and furniture moving contest going on up there.

This resort is VERY quiet so if it's a total relax your after, than this is the place for you. I found myself wishing there was a little more action and something to do in the evening besides sitting at the bar by the pool. We did take trips to the Grande and Le Toc. Both had better beaches but still just a 6 out of 10 at best. I loved the feel of the Grande resort as it had that elegance and luxurious feel to it that I was looking for.

We travelled with another couple and the 4 of us had a fun holiday in St. Lucia but I will be headed to places with beautiful, breathtaking beaches for my next vacations.
