We went to Scuba Steve's the day before we left St. Lucia. We signed up for the Beginner's Course. Steve picked us up from hotel, and after some technical difficulties finding a wet suit for my boyfriend, we were off!
They first took us newbies for the D.S.D. course, which basically was your "SCUBA 101", where he taught us the basic things needed to get around and do in case you lost your mouthpiece, etc. Our guides were so very friendly and nice, and answered all our questions. After we passed the mini test to his satisfaction we did a quick swim around using our new skills.
Back on the boat we met with the other couple (from Australia, such nice people!) and were provided sandwiches, juice, and cookies! The staff asked us about our trip and told us some history/facts about St. Lucia. We did another dive (now with the other couple, so we were one big happy group), which was about 50 minutes long... our expert guides pointed out marine life which I am sure I would of missed. We saw lots of coral, arrow crab, cuttle fish, and even a puffer fish!
We also did a quick stop in Marigot Bay, where we got to have a Piton Shandy (beer + lemonade), then we headed back!
These guys know their stuff, and I wished we went a few days earlier so we could have gone again! Steve and his wife Sheila are so very nice and friendly. Would definitely come back!!
