Just returned from a 14 night holiday at this beautiful island, we travelled with Virgin (excellent flight) a wedding party of 15 . we all had a fantastic time at the smugglers cove cannot praise the staff enough especially Bryan the barman he was brilliant so welcoming serving very generous drinks till late into the night every night .
All the restuarants on the site served excellent quality of food something for everyone delicious hot and always served with a smile, well worth every penny. Also need to mention the great boat trip we took with the captain on the Gemini boat you will find him on the beach most days well worth going for the day we stopped of several times taking in the volcanos and rainforest aswell as the waterfalls great day out .
Would recommend anyone to go to this gorgeous destination you will not regret it !

“NOT as good as almond in Barbados”

Almond Smugglers Cove

I have never written about a holiday befor and im not one to complain. But as you can imagine st lucai is one of the most beautiful islands in the caribbean, having been to the almond village in barbados also i was not worried at all about going to almond it st lucia, i have two young children an one night after a very long day ordered room service which never came so kids and us had no dinner tryed another night to but after 4 attempts off being passed around gave up we spoke to other people and same thing.also as the kids would be tired some nights we would like a bottel of wine to put in the fridge in our room but were told we could e.g have 20 glasses but we had to BUY bottels they would not give you the bottel it is much easyer to carry a bottel than glasses.we found very much the hard sale with the reception staff no help and only giving us i wine list to buy from when we just paid over 4 grand for our holiday.it was the principle of the matter not the wine in the end.Barbados almond staff were very friendly and no worries with any thing.all in all a great island we did the piret ship one day very very good a real experince do it if you get the chance.also did helicopter excellent it only took 15 mins from air port rather than the 2 hours by coach if you book it out there it only cost $120US about £60 in english. But hotel staff 30% nice 70% not a big help in making your holiday great" we" found unless you were getting married don`t expect great service BUT this our reviwe on the holiday some people we went with had a great time but they did not have children or use the room service.we did tho find other familes were finding the same small problems which all the little probloms and no help or understanding was very annoying.needs a few more years in customer relations befor up to par with almond in barbados.

We just returned on Friday May 23rd from a week stay at Almond Smugglers Cove. It was fantastic.

The room was newly renovated and very clean and comfortable.

The food was exceptional at The Waterside Grill, LaTrotoria and The Cove. The staff at the Cove were so nice and pleasant to deal with. They went beyond expectations to make you comfortable.

The grounds were kept clean and well groomed.

Pools were awesome. There is still some renovations going on but did not interfer with our stay at all.

I had read some of the negative reviews on this site and was a little worried before we left but found none of them to be true and far as our stay was concerned.

Recommend it 100%.

Arrived on 6/5/08 for a 10 day honeymoon. Great flight as we'd upgraded to Virgin Upper Class so we also had a private transfer to the resort. As mentioned in other reviews it IS a 2 hour drive, but we got to see a bit of the island on the way. On arrival we were booked in very efficiently & our garden view suite was extremely clean & well furnished.(During our stay we had no bugs or mozzies in the room). Good tip.... the sockets are all UK style & we didn't need to use a travel adapter.
We loved the hotel, good mix for adults & kids (was nice having an adults only pool area & dining just to get a bit of peace & quiet if you wanted it). It was also nice having the dress code for the evening, it made the atmosphere more pleasant. We loved the food, and with 4 options you really didn't feel restricted by a set menu.
The staff were lovely & very helpful, and we had no issues with security of valuables etc.... just be sensible & use the safe properly & you should be fine!
We booked a couple of trips & had a great time (the day trip to Martinique was good, but be prepared if you're not a great sailor.... very choppy 90 minute crossing!!! Have to say though that the girls on board were SO fabulous, helping everyone with drinks & sympathy when folks were feeling a bit 'green'!)
My new hubby also turned into Action Man , he loved the Rain Forest Zip Ride... 3 hrs of acting like an 8 yr old... I took the gentler option of the cable car... beautiful scenery etc.
Highly recommend Scuba Steves Diving based in Rodney Bay... fantastic 'beginners' dive session, the instructors are fantastic & the experience was great! Not really 'sold' by the reps, but ask at the hotel & they will give you the phone number, cost was about $170 for a half day, including pick-up & loads of digital underwater photos (as a 'passenger only' I was charged just $30 extra).
We were also lucky enough to time our trip with the Jazz Festival & had a great day at Pigeon Island watching Dione Warwick, Angie Stone & Wycliffe Jean (anything like this... take a brolly to shade you from the sun!!!)
Final tip, book the helicopter transfer back to the airport ($130 each)... only takes 10 minutes from Castries & gives you a great view of the island!
All in all... a perfect honeymoon!!!!!!

we had a fantastic wedding and holiday at ASC. after the overnight in gatwick and the long flight and immigration, i was beginning to wonder if it was all worth it... then as we pulled into the beautifully maintained resort, i knew it was!

there is so much to keep yourself entertained with that you could easily spend two weeks at ASC and not leave the resort. we had originally intended on doing alot of tours but in the end we only did one. i would recommend going to see the pitons and the volcano if it's the only time you leave the resort.

the food at the resort was fantastic and always varied. we had the chance to speak to the executive chef and compliment him on his menus.

the staff at the resort are so genuinely friendly, from the gardeners to the security, they love to take the time to talk with gueast about anyhing! and i mean everything. they will often talk about the st.lucian outlook on life and their friendliness is so infectious! the atmosphere is very relaxing around the resort and makes for a perfect holiday.

our wedding day was just perfect. we only had a small party of my parents with us but our wedding was made feel very special. the location for the ceremony is just perfect and in a nice secluded setting, looking back towards the beach.

we chose to get married at 4oclock so we wouldn't be sweating in wedding clothes all day. this meant that the morning of our wedding we had the chance to rent a jet ski, snorkel and waterski. there's not many couples can say they did this on the day of their wedding!

the day after our wedding we did the horse trek to the atlantic side, this was very relaxing and well worth the money. my new bride and i got to ride into the atlantic sea on the same horse on our own. this was not only a great experience but made for a great photo oppurtunity for us newlyweds.

i couldn't fault this resort at all and will be returning there in the not too distant future.
unfortunately we only stayed a week and then moved on to barbados on our own for our honeymoon. we enjoyed asc so much that we contemplated staying the extra week!

if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

and thanks to the group from england who helped my wife find her rings when she dropped them in the sand. i hope your wedding went well and you enjoyed your secons week. i know emma saw you at gatwick but thanks again! michael
