After a low-key wedding, we were looking for a low-key honeymoon, and Stonefield certainly delivered! June is in the low season and the resort was around half-occupancy, so it was if we had the place to ourselves. The villas are impressive and quaint, well-kept, insect-free, and very private with unbelievable views of the Petit Piton and the Caribbean--between the private plunge pool and the hammock, we could have spent an entire day at the villa and been perfectly happy. As if the view from the villa wasn't good enough, the views from the Mango Tree restaurant were amazing! We can't say enough about how great the Mango Tree was--it was perhaps the highlight of our stay. We purchased the Honeymoon package, so all meals and drinks were included---we were happy we did so as the breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were delicious every day. We noticed people coming in from other parts of the island as well as from docked cruise ships just to have a meal at the Mango Tree. From the fresh island fruit juices (starfruit, grapefruit, tamarind, lime juices) to the fresh herb butter, fresh fruit jams and jellies, five-star dinners that changed from night to night--this place couldn't be beat!
The staff at Stonefield was warm and welcoming, accommodating with whatever you needed while respectful of your privacy. The excursion activities that were included in our package were easy to book and a lot of fun. We can't say enough about the package deals at Stonefield--with meals, drinks, airport transfers, excursions, and massages all included with room stay, you don't even need to think about money.
Stonefield was absolutely the perfect solution to our honeymoon needs. The last thing we wanted was a cheesy Sandals-like experience---Stonefield was as far from that as possible. We'd be the first to recommend Stonefield to anyone looking for a low-key, relaxing vacation, whether honeymooning or not.

My husband and I just returned from a week stay at Stonefield and it was wonderful! We were looking for a place to completely relax, and I couldn't imagine a better place. We wanted something quiet, private and romantic. Stonefield was perfect.

We stayed in the Tamarind villa, which was very private, spacious, and peaceful. The pool and outdoor shower were amazing. The hamock on the porch is also a nice touch. There was a small refrigerator - perfect for snacks and drinks. All the plantation doors/windows had screens, so you could still catch a breeze without the bugs. It was only warm one of the days and It was nice that the room had A/C.The bed was very comfortable, but the linens were just ok. The only thing that I think the room was missing was a TV and wifi (internet was only available in the restaurant and front desk). I understand that this is an exotic island and your focus should be on your surroundings and new adventures. However, it would have been nice to cuddle while watching a movie after dinner or while it was raining. We also wish that we would have known about the room service. We found out that it was available as we were checking out.

The staff was awesome. SO friendly and accomodating! SherryAnn and Mr. George - we miss your kindness and smiles. The Mango Tree restaurant was really good. We had the dinner meal plan and found it to be a great value. The dinner menu changes every night, so there is no need to go anywhere else. The view alone from the restaurant was unbelievable - like nothing we have ever seen!

We weren't looking for a highly adventurous trip, but it could have been arranged if we wanted. Stonefield has a whole menu of excursions to choose from. We were perfectly content with eating, drinking, sleeping, and just enjoying the view. We hope to come back soon. Thank you Stonefield!

My husband and I recently spent our honeymoon at Stonefield and we still can't get over how fantastic the experience was. Everything was top-notch from the service at the front desk / management, our villa - Jacaranda, food at the Mango Tree, and list of available activities to partake in.

We arrived at Stonefield late in the evening and were checked in by one of the security guards who was very helpfull. The moon was full and we could see the outline of the Petite Piton which made the both of us extremely excited for the coming day. The concert of chirping crickets and frogs lulled us to sleep. Sunrise, WOW! the views from our villa were absolutely incredible and in fact every view from Stonefield is incredible. We wanted to stay in a villa that had a fully equiped kitchen so we could prepare our own meals and save money and Jacaranda provided this. Soufriere is an easy downhill walk to the grocery store where we stocked up on food for some lunches and dinners. Also, don't forget to stock up on some Piton beer and Bounty rum. The front desk arranged for a taxi to bring us back to our villa so we didn't have to walk back up the hill. I totally recommed using the taxi/shuttle service - it's not that expensive especially if you split it with other guest as we did and they are extremely prompt. My husband is 6'6" and the pool at our villa was deep enough to cover his head! Bring your own rafts to enjoy the pool even more. Also, the outdoor shower is awesome, I wish we had one. Jacaranda is not air-conditioned but with the two ceiling fans we never thought it was hot. Sleeping was very comfortable.

Stonefield is situated on a mountain side with amazing views of the Gros and Petite Pitons. The property is very lush and the staff encourages guest to pick the fruit growing on the trees. We picked mangoes, bananas, and grapefruits to use for our meals. The mangoes weren't particularlly ripe and our cleaning lady overheard me saying this and later that day she surprised us with a bag of ripe mangoes! Also, I asked our driver some advice on buying a fish from a fisherman and he suggested that he buy it so we wouldn't get overcharged. He saved us money and even gutted and scaled the fish so I didn't have to hassel with it. I really can't say enough about the property - it's beautiful! We liked going to the Malgretout Beach because we felt like it was our own beach which is rocky instead of full sand. Most people take shuttles to Jalousie or Anse Chastenet which left Malgretout to ourselves. WARNING! the walk back up to Stonefield is really steep. We live in Colorado and didn't have issues with this but other guest thought it was too steep. Jalousie is also pretty because of the white sand.

We enjoyed our trip to the volcano and botanical gardens. My husband is a geology nut and really liked the volcano and all of the bubbling mud. Going to the botanical gardens allows you to learn the names of all of the plants and flowers that are growing on Stonefields property. Our guide, "Alex the Great" is a walking encyclopedia. We also decided to climb the Petite Piton instead of the Gros because they say it is more difficult. Boy, was it ever difficult! Climbing the Petite is very technical and the hardest climb that we have ever done. There are no switch-backs and it is completely a vertical climb, all 2,600 feet of it. Once up top you are rewarded with such an amazing view. If you aren't afraid of heights and physical exertion this is the climb for you. If not, opt for the Gros Piton with its steps to get you to the top. P.S. I was incredibly sore the next day and the massage at the Bamboo Door took care of it. The last excursion that we signed up for was snorkeling. The variety of fish was numerous and we highly recommend it.

We loved the food at the Mangoe Tree and were very surprised to read reviews that called it mediocre. We ate breakfast there everyday and thought that the service was great. Remember, your in a country were time isn't that pressing of an issue. Enjoy the views and relax. Lunch and Dinner are yummy as well. You must order the cheeseburger for lunch, I'm not joking.

What we liked best about Stonefield was our villa, the views, the food, and the staff. Ernie is a great General Manager and he is doing many things right. You must realize that there are mosquitos and no-seeums. You will get bitten. Bring plenty of deet and itch relief. Also, Stonefield is a destination for those who want to relax. This is not a place for those who crave nightlife on their vacation. In all, this is one of the best vacations we have ever been on, we cannot wait to come back.

Stayed here in april with my husband and two yound children. We were in Lime Mill villa and thought it was beautiful. It was not artificially air condiitoned, but was wonderfully open air and thus cool and natural feeling. Open air showers were bliss. Rooms were very spacious and tastefully decorated and the exterior terraces and pool area could not have been more appealing. The views were magnificent. All this without the usual commercialism and without hordes of other people. We could hardly believe our luck. The restaurant was very good indeed and all staff were helpful and friendly.

My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon and words can't explain how amazing Stonefield is. We stayed for one week in the Frangipani villa and everything about Stonefield was perfect. The minute we got off the plane the service was five star - from the taxi drivers to the front desk reception staff, and the great service continued all the way through the trip. Every member of the staff is great, they knew us by first name on the first day we arrived and could not have been more pleasant to be around (especially Karen at the front desk and the manager Ernie).

There are many different villas to choose from at Stonefield. We would highly recommend the Frangipani because of the privacy, the amazing views, the A/C (which was an added luxury), as well as the private pool that over looks the ocean and the pitons. The villa also has a kitchenette which was great because we usually ate breakfast and lunch in the villa. Just an FYI this villa seems to be the most requested villa so you will want to book well in advance, you will not be dissapointed. Note: If you stay at the Frangipani, you must take care of the kitty :) She is very friendly.

The only word of caution is that Stonefiled is not right on the beach. However, they do offer free shuttle service to the Jalousie beach throughout the day and we found that our private pool was much better than being on a beach. Also be aware that because of the landscape of St. Lucia, most resorts are not right on the beach - especially near the pitons. However, the privacy and the views easily make up for this.

The Mango Tree restaurant exceeded our expectations and the service was great. The wait staff were all great and were very accomodating. We did not do the all inclusive package but we both agreed that we would not have disapointed if we would have b/c there is a different menu every night that ranges from fish to BBQ with lots of local flavor. If you do not do all inclusive, the menu is very well priced and you can get groceries in Soufriere if you want to so you don't have to eat out every night. One of the reasons we decided not to do the all inclusive is b/c we knew that we wanted to go to the resturant at Ladera. The food at Ladera was good but thought the overall atmosphere was uninviting, and we really looked forward to getting back to Stonefield. Things you must try at the Mango Tree; Breakfast - Stonefield Favorite; Lunch - The Hamburger (I know what you are thinking but trust me) or the Piton Tuna; Dinner - BBQ Night is amazing.

Finally, here are several things that we enjoyed and wanted to share. Zip-lining was really fun, but FYI the cab ride is an hour and a half away from Stonefield. So if you decide to go, go early and check the prices before hand. You must do the sunset cruise, the views from the ocean are unreal. If you do go, try to request Nigel as your captain, he was great and very knowledgeable. If you are going for your honeymoon the couples massage was fantastic, very relaxing. Make sure you do it at the end of your trip as it was a great way to end our trip before we had to come back to 'reality'.

Also make sure you bring some cheap rafts so you can use them in your pool. In addition make sure you bring some bug spray (OFF and a citronella candle). You are going to a tropical climate so yes there will be bugs no matter where you go on the island, however at Stonefield we had no real problems. We also rented the cell phone at the front desk which was a huge bonus. It is only $20 for 30 minutes and that was more than enough for an entire week. The phone was nice b/c we were able to call the restaurant and front desk whenever needed.

Overall, we definately recommend Stonefield. We are already planning our trip back!!!
