Smugglers Cove is by far my favorite beach that I have ever been to. It is the ideal beach, at least for me. It is secluded, no more than a handful of groups there at the same time. It has white soft sand, beautiful, turqouise, calm water for swimming. The snorkeling is great. There is a even a stand that sells drinks and food. The road to get there is a little hairy... but it adds to the fun.

I actually just got back 2 weeks ago from the BVI and Smugglers Cove is the beach that my husband and I decided to get married on. We could not have picked a more beautiful spot.

I definitely recommend this beach. But am glad for the road being a little difficult... it will keep it the secluded beach that I fell in love with.

Beautiful peaceful retreat. Good snorkeling right from the beach too. I will definitely return to this beach on my next trip to BVI.

Smuggler's Cove is a great spot for lying in the sun, body-surfing some medium waves and swimming. The road to get to the beach is really bad, which seems to keep away big crowds.

The beach at Cane Garden Bay is a nice beach, but it is a lot more crowded (also has more bars/restaurants). The beach at Brewer's Bay is also quite nice and not so crowded.

Best snorkeling on Tortola (with Brewers Bay a close second).
One vendor stand for getting drinks.
No restrooms.
The dirt road to the beach is not as bad as some say.
Very quiet beach.

We heard from various locals that Smuggler's Cove was the most beautiful beach on the island... in my opinion, they weren't kidding! There are only two (rather precarious) roads to access the beach, making Smuggler's Cove quite off-the-beaten-track. Make sure you have a solid car for this journey because you will either be four-wheeling it up and down a STEEP dirt road near the Jolly Roger or along a 2 mile, very narrow dirt road from Long Bay Beach. We took the Long Bay route, though a bit longer, seemingly safer, with breathtaking views from a ridge road. The bumpy road is narrow but you can't really go more than a few miles per hour because of the holes... Try to go earlier in the morning. Those "in the know" show up well before lunch so the smallish beach can begin to feel crowded! The half-moon sweep of beach is total perfection, offering views to Jost Van Dyle and a large, shallow reef for snorkling. There is a small beach bar that sells snacks and beverage, rents chairs and snorkle equipment... Adventurous visitors will find Smuggler's Cove well worth the effort! We had a BRILLIANT time - especially since we had the whole beach to ourselves for about 2 hours.
