Whether you're in Grand Cayman for a week or just visiting George Town for the day on a cruise ship, you must dive Eden Rock Dive Center (shore dive). If you walk from downtown George Town make sure you continue past Paradise Bar/Eden Rock by 100m. Eden Rock Dive Center offers boat dives, a great dive shop, lockers and a friendly knowledgible staff.

If you need an exciting dive, you won't believe that you will find it just off shore. The Devils Grotto dive area offers the coolest underwater swim-throughs and cave. Even in January, I saw large schools of jacks, tangs, barracudas, a nurse shark and the largest parrotfish I ever saw. In the swim-throughs there were a couple of fairly large grouper too.

My girlfriend and I did our 4 referral dives for PADI certification with Steve from Eden Rock. We were picked up and dropped off from our seven mile beach location both days. I think the location is perfect place to learn diving with two reefs at the centers doortstep. Additionally we did a lot of rate shopping and found the erferral dives to be about $30-60 dollars cheaper than most dive centers on the island. We all felt that there other prices were very competitive. Would highlt recommend them to anyone.

“Great snorkeling, and free”

As budget cruisers, we were thrilled to find such a friendly shop which allows folks to snorkel from their patio for free. Eden Rock is always a highlight of our limited time in Georgetown, much more fun than an endless round of shops!

My son (14) and I finished our last two PADI certification dives March 13, 2005 with divemaster Paul. Eden Rock is an awesome location and Paul is an excellent divemaster. He taught us compass navigation skills that were missing from our classroom instruction.

Saw lots of wildlife, including groupers, a sea turtle, and a barracuda. We'd like to dive here again next time our cruise ship is in port.

If you are looking for an affortable with an excellent beginners course for scuba diving, Eden Rock is the place to go in Grand Cayman! It is located within walking distance from the water taxi from the cruise ship! Just make a right from the port and the side walk will take you right to the location! Plus you will be scuba diving right in front of your cruise ship!! I was on the ship Imagination on 11/10/04 and they had no suba tours for Grand Cayman due to the damage of the hurricane so I booked the course on-line -------------- and received a $25.00 rebate for taking the course! I had an excellent instructor who did very well with somone who just learn to swim at 40 just two years ago for a cruise in 2002! Plus you can go snorkeling there for free and if you need equipment they have it there for rent! The above water instructions were excellent and I was tested to make sure I understood prior to diving which made me feel comfortable in doing it for my first time! The cost was $80.00 which was afforable and included the cost of the equipment! I highly recommend Eden Rock Diving Center for an excellent diving experience in Grand Cayman!!! Their goal for you will be to go 30 feet on your first dive!!! Enjoy!!!
