The Westin is a beautiful hotel on Grand Cayman. We have stayed there multiple times and always go back. There are quite a few places to eat on the property and within walking distance. Georgetown is about a 10 min cab ride. There is wonderful snorkeling off the beach at the Westin and great swimming. Rates are a bit more expensive, but if you can afford it, it is a great place to stay.

We stayed at this hotel with our two teenage boys. Because our oldest is 18 we needed to rooms, which were to be oceanview, and adjoining. Well, if you cocked your neck around the corner of our balcony you could see the ocean. Were informed that was their idea of ocean view.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, but certainly nothing more than a hotel room. The biggest disappointment was that the pool was very cold and not very clean. The hot tubs were too hot to sit in, and in need of some repairs. However, the beach was amazing and the location in general was great. Close to many restaurants, and shopping.

The restaruant at the hotel did not impress me. The pool bar had a very minimal menu and very little seating. The bar itself (pool) had 6 chairs. The swim up bar was nice, if you could stand the water.

The service and staff were very good and the grounds of the hotel were nice.

Overall, I just didn't think it lived up to the Westin name and for the $1000.00/night we paid for two rooms, I would not stay there again.

This hotel is probably one of the better ones in that area, we checked in and it all went smoothly though we were a total of 10 with one carry-on bag and the bellman insisted on taking all our luggage up, then had to stop at every door (6 rooms) unload the cart if your suitcase was on the bottom.... etc, it would have been much easier for us to roll our suitcase, but then he would have missed out on the tip...
The beach is gorgeous, it is by far the best in the 7 mile beach, other hotels in the area have chairs lined up next to each other, but there is plenty of room here.
The pool bar was great, though the food was pretty bad, we ate lunch and everyone had a problems with their meal. We did not eat at the restaurant there since we wanted to try others in the area like The Wharf, The Lobster Pot, Ristorante Pappagallo and The Lighthouse (all amazing and a must-try !)
The rooms were ok, bed were comfortable and the bathroom was ok, though it is a bit outdated and it could use some upgrade!
I must recommend Mr. Lopez, our cab driver, he was called the first night by the concierge and he ended up driving us around the whole time, what a great guy, if you need a taxi, ask for Mr. Lopez, what a fun fellow !
Again as we were getting ready to leave, the bellman insisted on taking our luggage outside and it all (10 of them) got put in the wrong van going to the airport, so we had to make some phone calls and catch up to them.....don't let them touch your suitcase and you'll be better off.
The staff at the lobby bar and the pool bar are great.
We would consider going back !

Stayed at this hotel in August 2009 for 7 days (I was at the same hotel last August for 10 days). I really don't understand the negative reviews! Yes Grand Cayman is expensive, but no more expensive than Mauii - in fact, I think Mauii was much more expensive. You can eat cheap if you want to (across the street at Eats Cafe), or splurge at some of the nice places in and around the hotel. My wife and I went for the diving - Spectacular!! We dove with Red Sail (right at the hotel) and Don Foster's (they will send a van to the hotel to pick you up). We also did the Stingray City Dive and feel like this was one of the most rewarding experiences ever (We did this dive with Don Foster's). My wife is a big chicken and I had to beg her and promise her a coach purse if she went, and she ended up really enjoying the dive (I still had to buy the purse!!).

My only complaint is the cost of accessing the Internet (Ridiculous). This is something that should be either free or much less in price!

I highly recommend this hotel and will go back again.
