We stayed here for our honeymoon in unit 2 and loved every minute! It was great snorkeling here, getting in the water here and letting the current take you to cemetery beach! It was so quiet and peaceful! The beach palapas were great and we loved dipping in the pool after spending so much time in the ocean. The condo was clean, neat with nice furniture, the screened in porch was great for when it rained so we could sit and enjoy it. The front desk staff was so helpful, we just had a great time!

We rented 4 units at Aqua Bay between 10/16 - 10/23/2009. We stayed in units 4, 5, 16 and 22. Two ground floor and 2 3rd floor. Everyone's room was very clean, updated, and exactly what we wanted. Deena and Renda were great to work with.

We were married right on the beach in front of the condo and it couldn't have been more perfect. The children (ages 7 and 12) snorkled right in front of the condo hours everyday. Thay also went to Cemetary Beach, which is very close, and saw even more sea life.

I would recommend this community to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle and have thier own private beach. We rented a car and went into Georgetown for shopping and dinner without any issues.

We will go back!

As the owner of Unit 5 in Aqua Bay, I can honestly say that when we purchased our unit, it came with a lot of research. The ground floor units are always better to get as they are walk out units. Totally worth the money, especially for the disabled or families with young children. (makes the pee-pee runs alot easier!)
The reason I am writing a review is to share some "in's" of the Caymans and let you know what to expect.
The island is expensive. Eating out can cost you so here are our recommendations so you can spend money on GOOD food.
Our top 5 restaurants:
Neptune Restaurant- AWESOME food, the BEST service. The salmon and the shrimp dish are the best as well as the Zuppa de Pesce. The steak is great and always listen to the specials. Raj is an AMAZING chef. Tell the boys Joe and Shannon said hello. We will eat here at least 4 of the 10 nights we are there every year. Probably the best kept secret. The downfall is it is not on the water. But I would rather have good food and no view than have bad food with a view!

Calyspo Grill- The Cabano Shrimp and the Filet of Beef are MUST have's. Leave room for the Sticky Toffee Pudding. It is to die for.

Papagalo's- Super place for great Italian food and has exotic birds and a great wait staff.

Edwardo's- Another super Italian restaurant. The escargot are excellent.

Eats Cafe- Always great for a quick bite for a reasoanble price. Has EVERYTHING which is good for families with different tastes.

EVERYTHING IS CLOSED ON SUNDAYS!!!! Supermarkets, stores, EVERYTHING except most restaurants. The pharmacy section of Fosters Food Market at The Strand is open for emergency stuff.

**Print out coupons for 10% off online for many restaurants before you go. It really saves a lot.

OK- Now you should LOVE water to go to the Caymans. Discovery cove does the dolphin tours and the Turtle Farm is lots of fun. If you go to the dolphin excursion by the Turtle Farm, they will give you a discount ticket. Make sure you ASK. If you are staying in Aqua Bay, the best snorkeling is only a few hundred yards away in Cemetary Reef. Cheese Wiz and frozen peas will attract your little friends and makes for a great experience.

Shopping in Georgetown- The best thing about Aqua Bay is that every morning you will look out and see the cruise ships rolling in. If there are less than 3 ships in, that should be your cue to go into town if you want to shop. DO NOT go in when there are 3 or more ships. Each ship unloads approx 2000 people so it does not make for a fun day to bump elbows with 14,000 shoppers.

Deena in the office is the best. If you need something, she is there. Staying in a condo benefits you as a family for many reasons. Hotel rooms don't have the amenities of a kitchen and private rooms. The use of a kitchen alone saves a family TONS of money. They also have more people that you have to share the pool and beach. There also is basically no difference in price.

This was the best vacation I've ever been on. And it was my honeymoon. We arrived at the Aqua Bay Club expecting a lot and this place surpassed everything I ever imagined. We arrived on a Monday and we went straight to the beach to check out the view. It was amazing. Not only was it the most beautiful beach and crystal clear water, but there wasn't anyone else in sight. My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and only saw 2 other families the whole time. And they were very nice and helpful in finding attractions and great food.

Food :
Champion House Rest. Great place to eat. It's a local spot a little off the beaten path.
Cimbaco - Great food and reasonable prices.
Lobster Pot - Great food but a little pricey.
The Cracked Conch - My best meal of the trip (Braised Turtle) but my wife's worst meal (Garlic Shrimp) Don't get that unless you like squid. Also pricey.
Chicken Chicken - Neither of us liked it. But it's cheap!!

Attractions :
Atlantis Submarine - DEFINATELY WORTH THE MONEY. Just take my word for it and do it!!
Stingray City - Take Captain Marvin's tour and go to this place. IT'S AWESOME!!!
Turtle Farm - (BIG WASTE OF MONEY!!) Filthy place with very rude staff. Nothing was in order or looked like it had been cleaned in years. The turtles stink worse than a Sewage Plant and it felt like an unsafe environment the whole time.

Back to Aqua Bay, Tha facility is VERY nice and clean. The staff is there when you need them but they stay out of your way so you can relax and enjoy your stay. The Kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare and eat your meal. Whirlpool appliances. Stove, fridge, microwave, even a dishwasher.
We stayed in apt 3 on the ground level. I prefer being on the ground. No stairs. You walk out of your patio door onto the beautiful pool scene. And just beyond that is the magnificent beach scene that will stick in your memory long after your back home in the real world.
I would urge you to rent a car while here. The location of ABC is perfect, but that's because it's about a 5-10 minute drive (on the wrong side of the road) from all the hussle and bussle of Georgetown.
If I ever get another chance to go back to the Grand Cayman, I will definately be staying at the Aqua Bay Club. IT WAS THE PERFECT VACATION!!!

I've never written a review for TripAdvisor before, but I loved our recent stay at Aqua Bay Club so much that I felt I should share our experience with other travelers. My husband and I were looking for an affordable but nice condo, on 7 mile beach, with a pool, that wasn't too crowded and busy. We definitely found that with Aqua Bay Club!!

All the condos overlook the beach and pool area - there are fantastic sunsets you can watch from the beach...with a frozen margarita you can make in your condo. Our condo was clean and beachy, but not cheesy. It had a large living room with flat screen TV, king size bed and TV in the bedroom, 1 bath, and full kitchen. Unit #17 was actually a 2 bedroom, but they locked the middle bedroom/bath so that we didn't have to pay the higher price, but could be on the top floor (which we asked for). Deena and Renda had everything ready when we got there, including a fruit basket, and were awesome when our DVD player broke (it was replaced within an hour) and also gave great recommendations on a half day snorkeling trip (Captain Clinton was great - definitely go to StingRay City!).

The daily housekeeper was excellent - she asked what time we normally left the room so she didn't wake us up and also did our dishes every day! They provide big beach towels so you don't have to lug yours from home. The kitchen had all the cooking equipment you would need, but you still need to buy the basics for food (salt/pepper, coffee, etc). There is a grocery store right around the corner though.

Even though its on 7 mile beach, if you stay here, you have to rent a car because its not in walking distance to any restaurants or attractions. However, I would strongly recommend renting a car no matter where you stay. 7 mile Beach is not pedestrian friendly - no cross walks with lots of traffic. Plus it was fun to be able to explore the whole island with our car and be able to go to places more off the beaten path.

Aqua Bay was at the very end of 7 mile Beach so it was quiet, with hardly anyone walking by on the beach. The beach wasn't really affected by the most recent hurricane (unlike the other end of 7 mile beach). There are some rocks when getting in the water - either bring aqua socks or find the place to the left with the giant flat rocks to walk on until you get out of where the waves crash. The beach and pool has plenty of lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tiki huts to lay under.

If we come back to Grand Cayman, we would definitely stay here!
