The Beach Club Colony Hotel and Dive Resort offered a nice alternative to the high rises/multiple room hotels.

The rooms were sizeable, clean and had a tropical decor. The setting was quaint. The swimming area was nice and well kept. A point to make was that it was sandy and dropped off gradually, as opposed to many other resorts along the beach. Beach chairs were in plentiful supply as were the kayaks.

Some people make note of the cruise ship passengers. We found no issues with it. There is a section of the beach marked off for guests and the cruise ship passengers ate in a different location. The schedule is easily learned from the front desk so you can avoid it if it really bothers.

The food was excellent and dining area quiet and somewhat romantic though not in an awkward way if one is not there with a significant other.

I would also highly recommend the dive shop. Excellent team with great offerings.

I would most certainly recommend it and return.

Great location right on 7 Mile Beach. Our first room overlooked a parking lot, so we paid $300.00 to upgrade to a beachside room. Quite pricey but worth the deck and the view. The rooms leave a lot to be desired but, we were paying for location, location, location.
It was all inclusive and we were pleasantly surprised with the food and beverages. Every night we had a choice of 3 very good entrees....even fresh vegetables which weren't overcooked. Breakfast and lunch menus were the same day to day but lots to choose from. All made fresh. Wine with dinner came in a jug....the red wasn't too bad but the white should be used for turpentine.
Bar staff was great....particularly Donovan. The wait staff service was excellent.
Our main purpose for the trip was to dive. Resort Sports has an office right in the hotel. We really enjoyed diving with Matt and Aaron.

We stayed for two weeks and returned on 7th October 2009. We met loads of nice people there, from various country's, staff and other guests. Please go soon in order to keep the hotel open. It is said it is closing but not yet. On one of the best beaches in the world. Wonderful excursions available at reasonable prices. If you only do one excursion make it Sting Ray City. This is really an incredible experience. Book it with the hotel. The staff, especially Gasper, were helpful and cheerful. Cruise liners do call at G.C. and some passengers do spend the morning at the hotel. However they make a positive contribution to the location and are no bother. No problem. The hotel does look a bit tatty in places and i would not use the pool. I do not think it is maintained now.
Please go now. We are going back as soon as possible. Our best ever overall holiday. The sea and snorkelling was fab. Hot, hot hot. This is an all inclusive hotel.

There are so many places in the Caribbean that I hope to visit, that I never thought I would find one that I absolutely had to return to! But I have found the place, and that place is the Beach Club Colony Resort on Grand Cayman Island! The beach is beautiful. The Resort is not fancy, but it is oh so comfortable! The people that work at the Beach Club Colony were simply the best! We knew them by name on the first day! The food was tremendous. Colin, the chef, is from Jamaica, so much of the food had his Jamaican flair! We loved it all! The beach bar was cozy and friendly. Drinks were amazing. Our room looked out on Seven Mile Beach and we saw wonderful sunsets every night. We could walk down the beach and there were other fun beach bars to visit.
A short bus ride away were shops, but who needs to shop when this gorgeous beach is right outside your window! The snorkeling was amazing! We used the complimentary snorkel equipment from the resort every day. A sea turtle seemed to live just a few yards out in the reef. Beautiful fish were everywhere! Because the resort is small, we got to know many of the other guests that were staying there. That was fun to actually feel like you knew the people who were dining right next to you at every meal. The dining room was outside and right by the beach. It was amazing! This was my perfect place. I would recommend the Beach Club Colony to anyone for a relaxed, fun vacation.
