My wife and i traveled with our 22-month old for a much needed vacation. We booked a two-bedroom unit, and it was absolutely wonderful.

First, the room was awesome. The room was very clean, with nice tropical furnishings and bright colors. We had two bathrooms with marble floors and double sinks, and the toilets were in their own separate rooms. The tubs in both bathrooms were huge -- great for washing off our daughter after the beach. The staff brought in a crib for our daughter, and she slept in the second bedroom and was able to get her afternoon nap in while we enjoyed the HUGE balcony with small palm trees and incredible view of the ocean and lounge chairs. (The two bedroom units are at the very end of the hotel.) The small kitchenette (refrigerator, sink, microwave, plates, cups, coffee maker) was fantastic, too. The room also had a plasma flatscreen in the family room with 5.1 surround sound. There as also a nice big dining room table, but we mostly ate outside on the table on the balcony. The master bedroom had two sliding glass doors with a corner view of the pool, seven mile beach, and the beautiful hotel grounds.

Second, this is a great resort with kids. The beach is calm and gentle, and our daughter spent hours building sandcastles. The pools have multiple depths ranging from less than a foot to well over my head, giving adults and kids the best of both worlds. The menus at the beach bar and Hemingway's are also very kid-friendly. Our daughter also enjoyed chasing the iguanas and lizards that call the resort home.

Third, this hotel had some of the best hotel food I have ever had. Hemingway's is outrageously good, and they even deliver to the room. We had a few dinners on our balcony with some spectacular and creative Caribbean / Cuban inspired seafood dishes. Hemingway's had some of the best food on the island, period. The beach bar also had some awesome food -- the conch fritters and fish and chips were excellent. They also make a mean mojito.

Fourth, the hotel's location is excellent. There is a Foster's Food Fair just north (about a two-minute drive), which is a wonderful grocery store. We got everything we could have possibly needed. You are also close to a lot of great dining, including options across the street to the excellent restaurants at the Ritz. The airport and other major attractions are just a short drive away.

Honestly, we couldn't have been happier. We debated staying at the Ritz, and I'm glad we didn't. It's a huge hotel, and the smaller feel of the Beach Suites (along with its fantastic amenities) worked perfectly.

My only minor gripes were that our room could have used a little bit of rehab in that one of the drawers of the nightstand was broken and one of the knobs on the door to the bathroom vanity fell off. I also was not keen on the Pebble Tec surface of the pools (a bit rough), and most of the parking is across the street. Other these minor issues, this was just about perfect. We highly recommend this resort.

A great hotel with an awesome gym, great view of the beach, and wonderful housekeepers. Got in on a special so it was affordable too. Our suite had a balcony with a view over the pool then just past that is the beach. Can eat poolside or surfside with full bar service. Can even swim up to the bar. Very nice service - greeted at the door with champagne - and has SCUBA or snorkel tours right on sight.

We just got back on October 25th. This hotel did everything to assure us to come back year after year. We were greeted by Chrissie, who I never saw stop smiling our entire trip. She was professional every day as was the famous Rayburn whom we have enjoyed every year. The people who stay here are down to earth and say hello to you like family unlike other hotels who charge higher rates. We were upgraded to a marvelous room though all the rooms are gorgeous. I hope everyone gets to experience a perfect vacation as we did. A big thank you to Mr. Power, Rayburn and Chrissie for one tremendous time.

My husband and I and my sister in law and brother in law just returned from our Caribbean vacation yesterday. My husband and I have never been there. We are certainly planning on returning again next year. We arrived at the hotel....we were given a room on floor number 3. We didn't care for the view, so we called the front desk the next morning. They were so accomodating to us. They said if we wanted to pack up our belongings, they would have a room on the 5th floor available for us that afternoon. We returned from a day of sightseeing and our room was ready when we got back. WE WERE SO THRILLED with our new room. Rayburn was so helpful the entire stay. He had a great sense of humor as well. The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and on top of everything. We had our bed turned down every evening with chocolates to boot :) Fresh towels when needed was never a problem either. We went to Hemmingways for breakfast one morning, it was delicious, but I have to say the evening we went to Bamboo, which was our last evening there, was OUT OF THIS WORLD. The sushi chefs and our waitress were outstanding. My husband and I just looked at each and said, "I don't want to leave yet, we're just getting used to this place" :) It was the best sushi I have ever eaten. We are looking forward to coming back next year if everything goes as planned. Thanks for the hospitality!

Just returned and had a great vacation. Weather was great, sun was hot. Beautiful sunsets. Stingray City was awesome as was the snorkeling. Several people told us NOT to book the Stingray/Snorkeling/Rum Point excursion with Red Tail Sports because the catamarans are crowded and higher priced than other companies. We used Native Way (you can find them in the phone book). We had only six people on the boat with the Captain and a photographer thereby providing personal attention from the Captain. The photographer took more than 100 pictures including an underwater photo of my husband and I snorkeling. We did not feel any pressure from the photographer to buy the pictures on a disk. We stayed at the Beach Suites which was at a great location and within walking distance of many restaurants. We had a one bedroom ocean front suite which was perfect for us. I would recommend, as do many other people, to get a few items for breakfast and/or lunches. It is nice to go get up in the morning and sit on the balcony with a cup of coffee. We did not rent a car. Instead we took the bus (very cheap) into Georgetown for a few hours of shopping and lunch. Overall, the week went too fast, but we came home with nice tans.
