We found Nisbet through Destination Weddings - an online agency that was great for assisting with all wedding details.

It was perfect - small resort, wonderful staff, great beach setting and the weather is pleasant all year round. We were married on the beach at the resort and spent 6 days there with 11 of our guests.

We had an incredible setting - the staff took care of every detail although I was worried as they seemed to casual and relaxed about it. In the end everything was perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing...

This is the place to unwind and relax - not a party atmosphere unless you are bringing the party with you.. they close the bar down when the last guest leaves, dinner is leisurely and relaxed and the beach and pool was always quiet with plenty of chairs to choose from.

The Great House staff was wonderful - every dinner was a relaxing, upscale evening to be enjoyed. Breakfast was good, service was Caribbean slow but that was fine with us as they were always pleasant and friendly.

Lunch was the only exception - service was slow, not as good as the rest of the staff at the resort. We also would have like regular service to the pool and beach areas. The staff was willing to come by but didn't do it often...

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable - most cottages have 2 rooms side by side so while you may have neighbors it is still very private. None of the rooms have a tv or alarm clock. As a matter of fact, only 1 clock at the resort and only 1 tv, which was fine with us! We found that gathering at the Great House to watch football was much more fun than sitting in our rooms alone...

If you don't see it - ask! The staff will arrange a bonfire or dinner on the beach, stargazing, tours, horseback riding... anything you can think of! They were incredibly thoughtful and accomodating.

I could go on and on and on about the resort... please contact me if you have any questions but if you are considering an island wedding - THIS IS THE PLACE!

Staying at the Nisbet Plantation was a wonderful experience. We were especially impressed with the food. The dinners that Chef Tony prepared and the desserts made by Virgilio, the Pastry Chef, were absolutely delicious - the desserts almost looked too beautiful to eat!

It's nice that we keep getting Christmas cards from Nisbet. We were there in Feb. 2004.

The only thing I didn't like was that the beach was really windy. Wind blowing all the time. Way too windy to enjoy the beach.

If anyone knows if there's a time of year when it's not windy, then please tell.

We stayed for a week at this superb small resort where they have got everything right for visitors looking for a quiet holiday right on the beach. The accommodation, food, beach and general facilities are all excellent, as are all the staff that we met - most of whom have been there for at least 10 years, some over 20 years!
The island itself is delightfully understated being, as yet, unspoilt by over development and there is little evidence of poverty. Our only disappointment was that we could find no good snorkeling off the beach around the island. You apparently need to take a boat trip towards St Kitts.
One, if not the, best holidays we have ever had.
