Oualie Beach Resort was the perfect casual, relaxing setting for myself, my wife, and our 2-year-old son when we vacationed for a week earlier this year.

Our room was spacious and clean with a terrific view of neighboring island St. Kitts and the ocean (all of the rooms are just steps from the surf).

The beach itself is a real treat. The water at Oualie beach is very calm, making it great for children and people interested in snorkling or water sports. This is without question the nicest beach on Nevis. The beach at NIsbet Plantation Inn is also lovely, but it has an almost constant breeze that can be quite gusty at times. By comparison, Oualie is much more tranquil.

The service at the hotel restaurant, bar and reception desk was courteous, friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welome and were very accommodating when it came to the needs of our young son.

The food at the hotel restaurant was very good, and often great. We especially liked their breakfast and lunch menus (dinner was fine, but not as consistant). We found dinner better at Montpelier and Hermitage plantation inns, but those hotels are more expensive and don't have the beach-setting and sunset views of Oualie Beach.

I wouldn't hesitate recommending Oualie Beach Resort to friends and family visitng Nevis, especially those traveling with children. We'll definitely be back in 2008!

First let me say that I just finished my 21st visit to Nevis, and I write the Nevis1.com website. With that in mind, I can honestly say that Oualie is TRULY the finest mid-range resort on Nevis. I have stayed there at leat 8 times, and never had a problem. OK, the rooms are not 4 seasons, but they also don't cost $600.00 a night.

My Grandmother who has been to Nevis even more times than me, and to over 125 countries, loves this place. Oualie has been written up in travel magazines more times than I can count, and has always won awards. BTW they just won another.

The owner's, The Yearwoods have bent over backwards to help people out. For example several years ago, my credit card would not work at a local ATM, so they GAVE me a $ 100.00 credit to eat with, and said " when you get home just send us a check". Now I maybe old, 45, but you just don't find this kind of service anymore, let alone trust.

I beseech thee, nay emplore thee, to check out other reviews on Oualie Beach. One bad review does not make for a complete picture.

The rooms are clean, the staff wonderful, and the food well above par.

We spent 5 nights at the Oualie Beach Resort in February. Overall we enjoyed our stay and recommend the hotel. Oualie is a bunch of cottages located directly on Oualie beach. Nothing fancy, but it is a nice relaxing place.

We had the premium room which featured the large bathroom. The premium rooms are further from the water than the older basic rooms, but we were still steps from the beach.

We only ate breakfast at the restaurant. The food was good, a little pricey, and the service slow.

Nevis is a very upscale little island that is really a nice place to get away from it all. It is not a good place to party, snorkel, or partake in activities.

My trip to Nevis was a wonderful experience, it started off a little bumpy as not receiving my luggage when my husband and I arrived. I must admitt I was very groggy when I checked in, tired from the long flight and to add my missing luggage. My first night at the hotel did not go too well as I got bitten all over and could not sleep, probably my mind was on my luggage why I didn't let my self relax but after that first night everything went so well. The hotel staff is very friendly and always eager to assist you with what ever question or query you may have and they never are hisitant to answer you not to mention nakida she was so pleasant to us always greated us with a smile, what my husband and I liked is that she didn't treat us as a "Tourist" she treated us as one of her kind and that made us feel so welcomed. We felt so sad when we had to leave but we most definitely will be back. The rooms were exceptional, the food, fantastic chef jason does a great job. We are sure to visit the oualie beach hotel again
