My husband and I just spent our honeymoon at Montpelier and are determined to return soon. Our main reasons for chosing Nevis and Montpelier were the recommendations for excellent service, gourmet food, and privacy. We were not disappointed. We had a chance to try the island's own bread fruit and a scrumptious dessert with a passion fruit coulis. The Chef made every effort to please the guests, never once was a dish repeated in 7 days!
We also had the opportunity to meet the Chef(s) and were thrilled with their passion and dedication to serving only the best and most creative foods. Color, texture, flavor and presentation were always well-balanced and fun. The Inn's restaurant also has a wine list that can compete with most European restaurants (I don't know how they manage to keep such a diverse and unique list on this tiny island paradise).
The owners and staff make every effort to provide you with a feeling of luxurious-living with a true friendliness that speaks of "at home" atmosphere. When we needed a driver to take us around the island he appeared, when we wanted a drink by the pool or afternoon tea it appeared, they even went up and beyond to make sure we had aloe for a bit of a sun burn!
Try the picnic on the Inn's private beach you will find yummy snacks and likely only two other people sharing the sand and surf. We never had more than two or four other hotel guests joining us.
The pool is amazing, if you have never enjoyed a fresh water pool give this a go, no red eyes and crystal clear swimming!
The rooms are designed to be private cabins and we were lucky to try the plantation rooms which have new waterfall showers and Hemmingway-esk interiors.
Keep an eye out for fun criters like the famous labrador duo. Can't wait to go back!
