The Abercromby is a pretty good budget hotel. On the whole I enjoyed my stay in the
economy room. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They will call you cabs at
any time of the night and have helpful tips about where to eat and shop.

The hotel itself is about 15 minutes from the downtown shopping area but there's not much
night life or restaurants that are open after 8pm. The streets get lonely after
7 and didn't seem too inviting but not necessarily dangerous. But with taxis
that are relatively cheap (40-60TT to most bars/restaurants) you don't really need
to walk much.

The hotel sells waters & sodas, has an airport pickup ($20), safety box and internet
connection. Coffee & small cakes for breakfast.

The rooms are a bit small but not too terrible. Pretty basic - phone, television, closet and central airconditioning (no individual control). You do have to put up with some noise if someone is walking in the hallway or talking in adjacent rooms. Also, the toilet in the room has an opening at the top (rather than a solid wall) so if you're going with a roommate,
they're going to get to know you well.

Overall, if you're looking for a budget stay, I highly recommend the place.

I went to Trinidad with my best friend recently for a break from school and we stayed at the Abercromby. I usually go to Par-May-La's but they were full. Anyways, we paid $88USD for a deluxe room and it was absolutely wonderful. The rooms were clean, great satellite package, breakfast included in rate and it is walking distance from the shopping areas. I plan to return very soon.

This I have to say was the worst hotel I have been to in my entire life. There was nothing good about my stay there, infact I should have been paid for staying in that hotel. I would not advise anyone to go there. The rooms were very small, air aircondition was very noisy, the bathroom was dirty, and if it is two people sharing , you might as well leave the door toilet door open.

I stayed at the Abercombie Inn for 5 days with my sister and a friend and it was great there...i am hoping to go back there soon.
