The Turks and Caicos Club offers a unique experience of being in a luxury accomodation without the chaos and crowing of many of the resorts on the island. The pristine beach outside the hotel is just steps from the room and very private. Rarely did we share the beach with anyone. The room to breath was so nice. The staff were friendly and helpful - gladly booked all of our side trips and made very good suggestions. The bathroom is so-so - would have preferred a step-in shower but no compliants about cleanliness and water pressure. Fresh towels were brought to us faster than we could use them (very nice). The kitchen is large and comfortable and very clean. We felt at home and well cared for. Washer and dryer in the room were great too! When we went down the road to the other big name resort hotel beaches crawling with people, we truly appreciated the unique, relaxing experience we were having at Turks and Caicos Club.

Turks & Caicos Club was just what we were hoping for for my wife and I and our two small kiddies (2 and 6 month). We found a deal on AA Vacations for the hotel that was 50% less than the hotel was quoting directly. The hotel is laid back, small, never crowded (never had to fight for a chaise), only a few other couples ever there, nice not luxury, friendly staff and the best location on Grace Bay in our opinion. (Loved that it was set back from the beach with nothing on either side). We didn’t like further down the beach where each resort is clumped right next to one another. Pool is small but more than adequate (though it needs a little more upkeep). Grounds are very lush and beautiful.

We had a 2 bed/2 bath ocean front suite that was very large, clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were especially great. These units are only on the 3rd floor (with no elevator) and our covered decks were smaller than the other units. The bad side is that we didn’t get much if any sun on the decks but they were much less windy and safer (for the kiddies) than the other ones on the first and second floor. The units also had washer/dryers, stainless steel appliances, free wi-fi and free long distance 800# calling. Very friendly staff and good twice a day cleaning.

Restaurant on site, Simba, was just ok. Breakfasts (that are included) were good but the choice was VERY limited (eggs, cereal, fruit or French toast). Dinner and lunch there were not very good (raw chicken sandwich for lunch, not very tasty dinner). On-site owner mentioned that the lease is up at the end of May and she will be making some changes. Just down the beach is Somewhere on the Beach (at Coral Gardens), which has great tex-mex food and great beach/laid back location, directly on the sand.

Great hotel, but not quite 5-star

If you want a relaxing vacation, then this is the hotel for you. However, you have to know what to expect when you stay here. The hotel is extremely private. When we first got there, we pretty much thought we owned the beach since we were the only ones out there (with the exception of some of the joggers going by). The beach is quiet, and the water has that turquoise look (just an FYI, but I think T&C Club had a better beach than the ones by Grace Bay Club and Seven Stars). The staff sets up just enough chairs and umbrellas for everyone who’s staying there. The White House reef is right next door which provides some great snorkeling. The entire staff is extremely friendly and the twice-daily maid service is really a nice benefit. The restaurant is actually pretty good (Simba was one of our favorite dinner places on the island) and complimentary breakfast is a time and money saver. The rooms are huge with a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a balcony overlooking the ocean. Plus there is free wi-fi and that’s key because I just hate when hotels nickel and dime you on something like that.

On the downside, there are some minor issues that make it not a 5-star hotel. There isn’t someone who will get you drinks when you’re sitting at the beach. The coffee is incredibly weak. Twice, the restaurant ran out of food supplies and had to limit their menu. If you look to the east, you’ve got a fairly depressing view of a half-finished condo that doesn’t look like it will get finished anytime soon.

But we believed those things were incredibly minor. We loved the hotel and it perfectly fit our need to get away from New York and experience a quiet and relaxing vacation. If we ever go back to Turks and Caicos, we’re checking the availability here first and we're definitely recommending it to all our friends.

My family (me, my wife, and one son) have stayed here 3 different times. We stay in the 2 bedroom units, which have incredible views, nice balcony, and spacious central room. This hotel is an incredible value.

We usually come in May, which seems like the perfect month. The island is not too crowded and neither is the hotel. And since the hotel is not too big, you end up feeling like it is your own private get away. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is great.

You are a short walk to the reef for some good snorkeling and you can snorkel with the sea turtles right in front of the hotel.

Very Relaxing Honeymoon

My husband and I stayed and T&C Club for a week for our honeymoon. We choose the hotel due to its small size and its proximity to Coral Gardens. We were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are extremely spacious and we had more room than we needed. The beach was extremely relaxing. There was never more than a few couples on the beach with us which made it very quiet and serene, not to mention beautiful, exactly what we were looking for. At the end of our trip a few family's arrived. This is not a great hotel for kids. The grounds and pool are small, not a lot of room for kids to run around. So, when kids are around, even when they are well behaved, they do upset the serenity of the place.

The daily breakfast was sufficient. The food was good, but the service definitely runs on island time. We walked to the IGA (about a mile walk) and stocked up on groceries for lunch and a few dinners. This saved us a lot of money. Turks and Caicos restaurants are expensive. We went to Simba (the T&C Club restaurant) the first night and although the food was good it did not come close to matching the price tag. When we went out for meals we walked down the beach (b/w a 20min and 30min walk). We enjoyed the walk (and checking out the other hotels) and saved money on not using a taxi or renting a car. The hotel advises not to walk on the beach at night, but we never felt unsafe.

We snorkeled using the hotels equipment almost every day. Coral Garden's is wonderful. We walked down to Smith's reef one day (about a 30min walk). The walk was nice and the beach around the reef is very pretty and secluded, but the snorkeling was not as good as at Coral Gardens. We also took a snorkeling day trip with Sail Provo and really enjoyed it. The snorkeling was only so-so, but being on the open water was fabulous. The crew was very friendly and my husband enjoyed diving for conch with them.

Overall we had a wonderful and relaxing honeymoon. We were definitely looking forward to some quiet and alone time following all the hoopla of a wedding and T&C Club was the perfect place for us.
