“Wish we had stayed at Grace Bay Club”

The Regent Palms

Really disappointed:
- Expensive without the "wow" factor - building work going on all around the hotel when we were there so in our opinion "developing" rather than "developed" and therefore price steep
- Extremely poor service - waited for 45 minutes one day (with only 2 or 3 tables occupied) just to be asked what we would like to drink. Waited another 30 minutes before the drink was actually delivered and then trying to get the bill was just as infuriating. I know that things are meant to be slower in the Carribbean but dying of thirst in 90 degree heat when there are plenty of staff standing around isn't really acceptable!
- Food was poor

Had lunch one day further down the beach in the Grace Bay Club and felt really hard done by as the Grace Bay was so much better in terms of ambience, service, quality of food, everything.

Such a disappointment.

“Beautiful Setting.....They Just Don't Get It!!!!!”

The Regent Palms

Beautiful Setting...but you can get that on any of the islands!!! Had to upgrade room for more$$$$$$. Food at the hotel was average to poor and pricy!!! Have the Conch Salad at the Pool Bar....the only good item!!! Continental breakfast for five days was totally boring...no superfruits because they are too pricy to serve.

Roach in one of the bathrooms.

Air-conditioner noisy and broken.

Spa was beautiful....and was obvious that it was their main focus to make money!!!!

Food in any of the restuarants on the island was pricy and not good. Cheddar cheese on lobster thermidor!!!! Dry roasted peanuts served at the Grace Bay Club Infinity Bar....what a joke!!!!

This island needs about ten years to get it right!!!! Would not ever return.

“Great Resort/Vacation - but a few hitches to fix”

The Palms is a great hotel/resort and anyone who says otherwise has not traveled very much. The property is beautiful, the rooms are amazing, and the spa is top notch. There is very little to say bad about this hotel, b/c much of it was great. the concierge - in particular Susie - was fabulous and truly made our stay. The girl should be managing the hotel if you ask me!

The rooms were wonderfully decorated, VERY large, and very clean. The restaurant was nice, although a little expensive, (there are many better places on the island) the pool was awesome (as well as the pool service) and the beach is great. I have traveled a lot and stayed at some top resorts in my life and there are a couple of small glitches that really irritated me that NEED to be fixed:

1. Breakfast - staff was horrible and the whole experience not fun (as many people mention). The bill out a full breakfast and you do not get one - you get a [--] attempt at cereal, some fruit and pastry. The service needs to get better (all locals) and they need to make more of a spread for what you pay to stay here. They should include any breakfast entree as part of your package if you ask me.
2. Service by the locals - again, not very good. Many of the workers who are American and Philipinno were awesome - like the pool deck crew, the dinner crew, and the beach crew - but the locals who work there an the breakfast crowd need to be replaced. Everyone I spoke to while I was there said this. You spend all this money to stay at a resort - they should be told the defiition of customer service and friendliness.
3. The pool indicates no kids in the spa and certain areas of the poo, but this is not enforced. While kid's parents should enforce these rules themselves for the comfort of guests, the pool staff shoudl be watchful as well. there are a lot of kids that go here, which adds to the "loudness" which can be annoying at times, but the pool staff should keep the kids out of the jacuzzi and the deep end of the pool and not leave the reprimanding to other guests, as I encountered first hand when a couple complained about kids not being watched by their parents.

Other than these 3 items, the resort was top notch. Beautiful resort, rooms, and location.

I will definitely be back and hope that they can correct these 3 problems which I know have been the complaint of several others.

We just returned from a week at the Regent Palms and had a fantastic time. The hotel is beautiful, the staff excellent and the pool and beach were great. The complimentary breakfast is a little disappointing, but the fruit was fresh and we had no issue with flies like some reviewers experienced. Coffee, juice, milk etc. was included and we even ordered toast on many days and were not charged for it.
If you have children, then the Palms is great. The beach and pool are fantastic, and the cabana guys were a great help with setting up chairs, supplying bottled water (which is complimentary), cold facecloths and even a cool water spray when it gets too hot. Also, the semi frozen pineapple and melon treats are a nice touch.
Parallel 23 restaurant is nice, but not great for the price. There are many other good places to eat nearby such as Hemingways, Bella Luna, and Baci to name a few. The only complaint I have is that the Friday night BBQ is expensive at $52.00 per adult plus service charge and tax. We did not feel it was worth it, and would not do it again.
We would definitely return to the Regent Palms.

This hotel was amazing and I honestly think it is the best place I have ever stayed. The rooms were large, spacious, and immaculately kept. The housekeeping was great! The food was fabulous...we ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel everyday and and had two dinners there...we did the beach BBQ one night and that was a lot of fun. The nicest BBQ I have ever been to! I loved the food and they had a good variety. The pool area was awesome...and the staff was great with taking drink and food orders. I loved that the beach and pool were close to each other. The one thing (and this in minor) that I didn't like on the beach was the "cabanas" they have to provide shade. I wished they had regular umbrellas, because sitting under the cabanas was very hot! But, the beach was amazing, the best I have ever been to.. The hotel was great for a relaxing, laid back vacation. I cannot wait to go back !
