My wife, kids and I recently at at the Banana Tree Grill and were not impressed. My first area of concern, was the fact that the pool was located right next to the open air restaurant. Second was the fact that the pool was full of 20 somethings drinking and smoking. (Not very appetizing) As for the food, it was decent, about the quality I would expect at Outback Steakhouse (Which isn't great) The vibe of the place was very 1975, and not in a cool way! On the up side, the view was fantastic, just make sure you look toward the bay and not the pool.

My husband and I were very pleased with the service and food at the Banana Tree Grille. We sat at the bar with JB at the beginning of our meal and were served by Ellen in the restaurant. Both were so far above what we expected - they were professional yet friendly and funny! The food was so good - try the gorgonzola bread and the chef's ravioli, I guarantee you will love both. Although we had an adventure trying to get to this restaurant (all the roads in St Thomas are horrible), we could not have been happier with the outcome.

Banana Tree Grille is not wheelchair accessible because of the multiple levels and the bathrooms do not meet ADA standards. I would give it an excellent rating if it were accessible.

Banana Tree Grille proves that places with great views can have great food. Mrs Trainhopper (MT), Japanese Scholar Son of Trainhopper (JSST) and JSST's Friend (JSSTF) had Christmas Dinner there. Ahi Tuna, Pork Chop, Portabella and Chilean Sea Bass were fantastic. Service was 5 star. Truly the best restaurant we went to on our trip.

The diverse menu is fantastic and the evening specials set the tone for this restaurant with a great view of the harbor. The service and friendly staff make this a must on every trip to St Thomas. Good wine list as well. It is tricky to find Bluebeard's Castle and then the restaurants within.

It was quite a trek to this restaurant located at the top of blackbeard's castle, but the view makes it all worth while. The service was friendly and helpful, our waiter even tried to reposition one of the lights that was pointing directly in my friend's face (we ultimately just changed tables). We ordered the calamari and the ravoli of the day special for appetizers. Both were pretty good. For entrees, I got the Seafood Melange, which was a mix of seafood and pasta. I found my seafood to be a bit dry. A friend of mine had the Black & White Tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes, which was better than my dish. The Gameri Involtini was pretty good, and the Peachy Pecan Mahi Mahi was definitely very peachy. A little too sweet for my taste.

For desserts we ordered the banana ravioli, the godiva chocolate brownie, tiramisu, and the "award winning key lime pie." I didn't think the key lime pie was all that great. I liked the brownie the best, followed by the tiramisu. :)

Overall, thumbs up to the waiter and definitely check out the gorgeous view. I wasn't sold on my choices of the night. Next time I'll choose other things!
