This was a last minute booking as I was stuck overnight in St. Thomas whilst en route to the BVI. What a fabulous find. If you like quaint historical places, this one is for you. The room was incredibly well equipped and even had a microwave oven and a little cooler for taking cold drinks to the beach. As lovely as it all was, what really made it for me was the genuine warm reception from the delightful couple who run the place. I would not hesitate to recommend Miller Manor and if I ever have to spend another night in St. Thomas, I certainly hope it will be there.

Room tip: I specifically requested a room with a private bathroom so I'm guessing some are shared. Worth checking when you book.

Unless they could pick this up and put it on a beach, I don't know how it could be better. Nicely decorated rooms with very comfortable beds, A/C rooms with fans, lots of outside seating, balconies, overall great place. They have a bar which is open late afternoon through the evening, a washer and dryer is available - and this is the only place we had an ice machine. The breakfast is standard continental - bagels, muffins, yogurt. The guidebooks say the neighborhood is kind of dicey & I'd have to agree with that assessment. The owners assured us we could safely walk in the dark but we opted to walk to town for dinner and take a taxi back. Beautiful views of the Charlotte Amalie harbor.

Thanks for taking the time to review us! We do make an effort to maintain positive relationships with our neighbors, some of whom keep en eye out for our guests who opt to walk.

Harry and Marj ooze the true and so often long lost meaning of the word hospitable and generous. You're not just a "customer." You are their guest in their home and they go out of their way to make you feel special; welcomed; appreciated.

If you like fancy, commercialized tourist traps then stay away. If you like visiting with great friends and soon to be new family members from around the world, you will love Miller Manor. My wife and I just spent several days staging from here and exploring the island thoroughly. We enjoyed coffee in the morning on the GORGEOUS terrace overlooking all of the bay and downtown Charlotte Amalie and Frenchtown with families from Italy, Norway, Denmark, Britain, Germany and Ohio (we are Michigan Wolverines so that makes Ohio a foreign land!).

Room tip: All the rooms are well reprsented by price. A cheaper room will not have a personal balcony. But, their common balcony is HUGE!

My girlfriend and I stayed here overnight after a week island hopping on a sailboat. We wanted, and got, a clean, comfortable room with air conditioning, lots of hot water, privacy, and a bed with clean sheets. Unlike most hotels on the island, they do not require a 2 night minimum stay. We had an 8' X 8' balcony with an unbelievable view; had we spent more time there it would have been a great place to read and sip rum drinks.

The neighborhood feels a little sketch at night - I felt better taking a taxi (although several other travelers mentioned that they walked around at night without trouble), but had no worries during the day. The owners have trusted cab providers and are happy to call them for you. The hotel itself is quite secure, with a gate your room key unlocks. The cruise ship port is about 2 miles away; the "downtown" with tent vendors "Emancipation Park" is about half a mile, and French Town, with some restaurants, is also about 2 miles. Off topic, *DO* eat at Jen's Creole Cafe near Emancipation Park for an unbelievably good meal. Please see my review for details.

The owners are a couple from Colorado who spend 3 months in the States and 9 in the USVI. They and their staff are extremely friendly. Do note that unless you make arrangements, the front desk is only manned between 8:00 and 10:30; and 5:00 to 8:30 PM. They offer a free "Welcome drink" at their patio bar and a complimentary breakfast (packaged muffins, yogurt, bagels, fruit, cereal). The view from the patio is unbelievable...the photos on their website do not do it justice. Computer problems now; I'll try to post later.

All in all, I would not call this a "resort" but it was an excellent choice for a clean, comfortable, safe bed. I expect to stay here again next time we go sailing.

It was great having visitors from "home" and talking about Colorado and our teaching experiences there.

We are grateful that you were willing to spend valuable time to write an evaluation of our hotel. Most of our guests tell us that they have chosen us on the basis of these reviews. They help us to continue to do the things that make you feel welcome and comfortable, and alert us to things that we can change to improve your experience with us.
We are so fortunate to have the wonderful view from the gallery, and while we think the Manor frames it pretty effectively, it is not something for which we can claim credit. And although we can’t change the city-like neighborhood in which we live, which is economically mixed, we hope that as we become more involved with our neighbors, and set an example of responsible ownership, we can increase by some small measure the level of security that our guests feel when leaving the Manor and venturing out to various points of interest near us.
Thanks once again for choosing to stay with us, and your willingness to share your experience with others.
