Best way to spend a Sunday in Nassau

Regardless of the price, which wasn't bad for a five hour sail/snorkel experience, this is a first rate operation. Capt. Craig and his crew are both highly professional and a lot of fun...Snorkeling was good, not great (for that, visit the Virgin Is. or Cancun) but the sailing in the Bahama Trades had us moving faster than the noisy power boats used for other snorkeling trips. Very relaxing and the catamaran, while moving at almost ten knots, hardly heeled. Rose Island was a paradise, and we were also able to do some snorkeling off the beach.

Lunch was very tasty, or maybe it was just the rum punch making it seem that way!! If you're a veteran diver, this is pretty tame, but if you're a relative novice like me, you'll have a blast.

We went on this trip in August 2007. At first we thought they loaded too many people on the boat but once we got underway, everything was comfortable. We wnet on the Sunday trip which is five hours and includes a nice meal. Flying Cloud is worth the money. Snorkeling and relaxing on the beach was a great way to start our week off at Atlantis. We're are staying at Harborside again this coming August and we've already made reservations to go on the Flying Cloud trip on Sunday.

I love snorkeling. I also always wanted to experience a sail on a Catamaran. This was the best of both. We had quite a few people on board but it had plenty of room to lounge around. We sailed to Rose Island. It took maybe 40 minutes. Then we snorkeled for about an hour. In April, the water is warm but after a while you get cool. So it felt like we had long enough of a snorkel time in the water. Then we had lunch and unlimited rum swizzle, or sodas. They had cash bar before the snorkeling to prevent drunkenness in the water. But after lunch, it was all you can drink. We beached on Rose island for an hour and a half. Great beach. white sand, felt like powdered sugar. Quiet and deserted, we could relax and sleep. Put lots of sun screen. And lots more… We sailed back to port and they drove us back to Rawson square we got back to our ship in plenty of time to shower and eat a snack before departure to FLL.

Will do it again and again.

I took a group of 19 people to the Bahamas and we went on the Flying Cloud Sunday snorkelling trip. The snorkelling was fantastic, lots of colourful fish and coral. Those in the group who did not want to snorkel were able to enjoy the sun on the boat. Lunch was enjoyed by all (especially the ribs! Mmm!) and the rum punch kept them all happy until we sailed back into Nassau. I would deffinately recommend this trip for any group visiting the Bahamas.

My husband and I just went on the Flying Cloud's Sunday cruise on December 30, 2007. The Flying Cloud is a catamaran with a great crew (Kudos to Marlene, Kai, Joe, Sameko and Joey for giving us a super Sunday in the Bahamas).

The Sunday cruise is a catamaran trip that starts on the docks in Providence Island and takes you out to a good snorkel spot just off Rose Island. After about an hour of snorkeling (equipment provided), there's a good lunch (rice & beans, ribs, chicken, fruit, salad, bread) and time to play on the beach (beach volleyball is set up, you can relax on the beach, swim, etc.). And the best part - after snorkeling, there's all the rum punch and soda you can drink.

The crew is fun and they really make the trip great. This is one of the best snorkel day trips my husband and I have been on in the Caribbean - a definite must-do if you're in the Bahamas on a Sunday and have time (pickup is around 9AM at your hotel, Nassau pier, etc., drop-off is between 3-4PM).

For those of you (like us) that are on a cruise, it's easy to arrange the trip and it's an easy walk (less than 5 min) to the pickup/drop-off spot from where the ships dock. So, if you're looking for some fun in the sun and under the water - check out Flying Cloud. You'll have the time of your life!!
