I am a travel agent and I use my personal vacations to review hotels so that I can advise my clients on where to go. First off, the review from the guy whose wife is a travel agent, it sounds like you only looked at the reviews and made your assumption about this property. I don't think anyone I spoke too during the week I was there thought for a moment that they "wasted their money". I took my younger brother for his University Graduation present and we found that there was a broad mix of people. A lot of couples, families, wedding groups and a few people celebrating honeymoons or graduation. As a travel agent I would recommend this hotel for those who are seeking activity and don't want to venture off the resort very often. If you are looking for complete relaxation and a romantic getaway, Sandals Royal Bahamian might be more suitable, but you could still have a nice romantic vacation at Superclubs Breezes. I was at the Sandals down the road and they didn't have any activities going on during the day like they did at Superclubs. So, once again, if you are an active person, Superclubs is great!!

Rooms: We had a room on the top floor (8) and in the west wing facing west. It was great because we had a great ocean view and we saw some amazing sunsets. The west wing has been recently renovated with new floors, bathroom fixtures and new flat screen tv's. The east wing is now shut down and undergoing renovations. Maids kept room very tidy.
Beach: Nice long walking beach. The only thing is that there is seagrass about 10 feet in so the clear patches of water aren't very deep, but nice and warm to wade in. There were spots further out in the water that were clear and if you rented a sea kayak, peddal boat, hobie cat or water trike, you could go out to those areas.
Activities/Watersports: Each day is a different theme. They have Pajama day, Toga Thursday, Carnival Friday, Oldies Wednesday, etc. Lots of activities on the beach throughout the day and night. The entertainment staff works really hard and they are there first thing in the morning until late at night making sure everyone has a good time. Watersports are included along with waterskiing. You can also take a trampoline clinic, trapeze clinic or even climb the rock wall.
Entertainment: I love Funky D and the Summer Breeze band!!!! They were great!!! They take requests and even let my brother play with the band and sing!! Don't forget to go to the Carnival Friday and Junkanoo show!!! Disco was fun and the lip sync contest was halarious!! If you like Karaoke, they have a karaoke night but they only have about 100 songs or so. If you have a certain one that you like to sing, bring your karaoke cd and they will play it for you.
Food/Beverage: Food was good. I prefer the buffet, that way I can eat when i'm actually hungry. A lot of the stuff was the same but variations and I thought it was good, salad , chicken, pork, beef, a type of potato, cornbread, breads, fish, etc. One night they even had turkey dinner!!! It was yummy. They also have a soft serve ice cream machine and you can add sprinkles, whip cream, nuts, and chocolate chips if you want. A couple of nights they turn the buffet into an a la carte but it has the same menu both nights. It was good though. Breakfast had eggs, hash browns ,pancakes, french toast, sausage, made to order omelets, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, oatmeal, bagels, breads, english muffins, grits, cream of wheat, etc. The beach grill had Jerk Chicken, Ceasar Salad, Crab Salad, hot dogs, hamburger/cheeseburger, fries, conch fritters and self serve nachos. We went to Pastafari for dinner one night and it was really good. They have slushie machines in the lobby (banana, mango, pina coloda and strawberry daiquiri) that you could help yourself to and they left the bottle of rum on the bar so that you could add it to your slush.
Overall, I had a great experience at this resort and it suited my needs for my vacation. The resort was clean, the staff friendly and helpful, entertainment great, drinks and food plentiful. I would definitely return and I will be recommending this resort to my clients. The best part was that there is NO TIPPING ALLOWED. I got to save all my $1 bills for the bus into Nassau to do some shopping.
If you have any questions about this resort, any other resort (i've been to others in the Bahamas as well) or what to do in Nassau, please feel free to contact me at any time and I will be more than happy to help you!!
