“Very friendly staff with good service”

We stayed here for 3 nights prior to our live abroad dive trip. The staff was very nice, said hello every time we met them in the hall, pool or dining areas. Our room had one small problem, called the front desk and by the time we return from breakfast it had been corrected. We would rate the staff very good. We used the pool and beach areas and did not have any the problems listed by others. Enjoyed our swim in both the pool and ocean.

“Nice hotel with a great location!”

My husband and I just spent 5 nights for our anniversary and I was a bit concerned with reading some current reviews about "trickling water", "poor service" and "small rooms"...but we were very happy with everything. The water was fine and we even drank it!!! The service was good from the front desk, to the maid service & the conceirge...we had no problems at all and no poor encounters with anyone who wasn't helpful and nice. My husband is a diamond member and so we stayed on the 6th floor with the hospitality room and that was great. As mentioned previously they don't let you take things out but we had no problem carrying out a drink in a plastic cup or a piece of fruit to take down to the beach. The rooms were not huge but who the heck is staying in the room??? The hotel restaurant had a buffet that was nice and very reasonalbe ($32)...but I would recommend a couple blocks walk to the "fish fry" where you can get great food & drinks in a more "locals" environment. We did not walk at night but always felt safe walking during the day and never had problems. Our only surprise were all the "fees" that we had on our bill upon check-out...like maid service fees daily when we actually only had maid service once the entire time (by our choice). We took the Island Adventrues Powerboat trip and I totally recommend that...it was nice but of course touristy!! For something truely great...go find Basil at the Blue Hole Water Sports (on the beach next to Senor Frogs) and have him take you to a secluded beach area for $70 he dropped us off for four hours at our own private cay. Only other note...the music from Senor Frogs was constant if you are looking for a quiet beach...the beach is small but was never crowded and the water was fine. If you don't like being in the middle of everything where you can walk to the shops, restaurants and have sounds of music and cruise ships...this is not the place for you.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in May for our anniversary. We used Hilton points for our stay so it was basically free, except for the fuel charges, the maid charges and a few other things that amounted to about $10 per day. This is about a 100 year old hotel so things are going to be a little different than a brand new location. The room was small. Such that to open the dresser, the drawers would hit the end of the bed. Even so, the room worked out fine for us. The bathroom was nice and updated with both a tub and a shower. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. Every one of them had a nice hello for us whenever we saw them. The beach was nice enough with plenty of room. The water was calm because of Paradise Island that is right out in the harbor. There was a lot of cruise ship traffic. At least one everyday we were there and sometimes as many as 4 in one day. Not a big deal as it only brought more people into town. Good location right downtown. We felt safe the entire time we were there. The Bahamas are very expensive place and this hotel was priced about the same as other establishments. Overall, nothing negative to say about the hotel. We would go back again.

We stayed at this property for 3 nights in May- the location was close walking distance to shopping and restaurants and the Straw Market. The beach spots were fairly empty for the weekend, so we had no problems getting hammocks on the lawn or chairs. The drinks at the poolside were good and resonably priced. There is also a liquor store right across the street where you can get water and beer (try the Kalik) for your room. This is not a 5 star property, but very nice if you want a property that doesn't require you to have a rental car to get to dinner and if you don't want to spend tons of money on your hotel room. I would definitely stay here again due to its proximity to restaurants and shopping. We were also lucky to get upgraded to an ocean view room on the end of the floor, which was nice. There were very few children on the beach (this is a family resort) so we couldn't hear any loud children playing, which was peaceful.

This place is gross. The staff in horrible, not nice at all. The beach, unless you like swimming in gasoline from the cruise ships, that's the only way you'll like this place. The food is nasty and again the staff-HORRIBLE! If your 18 and want to get wasted this is the place for you. Also, the hotel is filthy and very run down. Trust me go somewhere else. The other people that gave good reviews to this hotel must be on drugs. Go somewhere else if you want to have a good vacation.
