I went to Nassau in Feb of 2007.
The pirate museum was a good time. Excellent for children. Lots of information and fun things. The gretter was amazing. So into his job!

This was quite an experience. I agree with the other reviews that said, it wasn't a bad thing. It was worth the nice air conditioning for a couple hours. We read all the signs and listened to the recordings. It was worth the $24 dollars for us both to go in. It was our first wax museum so I can't compare it to others.

I believe it may change depending on which staff tours you.
We had a wonderful fun guide. It was quite interesting to us. There is not alot to do in bahamas and this was a nice diversion.
Another top notch experience was stuart cove where we did the personal sub ride. We loved it!!

I wasn't overly impressed with the Pirate Museum. They pay a guy to dress up like a pirate and take your ticket, but he doesn't actually give you the tour. The tours are self-guided, unless you have a large group and make prior arrangements. I think it would be much better with a knowledgeable guide. The exhibits themselves are kind of cheesy, but there is interesting information about the real pirates of the Caribbean.

$12 is a little too much for this exhibit. If you have kids who are old enough to read, they might like it. If you have a strong personal interest in pirates, you might like it. Otherwise, I'd say take it or leave it. I would not feel bad if I'd missed it, but neither was it a total waste of time.
