Well this was my 6th visit to Westwind II since 2001. I have consider this place a second home. I rent every year. My Uncle had a place here for twenty years here (now one of my aunts own it now) that is how I found out about this place. For years my family have talked about how great this place is. I couldn't wait to go back after my first time in 2001.

First this like most places is not for everyone. This is not a luxury property where you will be pampered. This is a timeshare property. So there are no spa soaps or shampoos. Honestly you get free "hotel" soap and that is about it. But I read alot of reviews on the site about things being "expensive" and honestly this may be the best value on Cable Beach. You can rent from Westwind II themselves or check out Redweek or VRBO for rentals. It costs about $1100 - $1300 for 7 nights. I paid $1200 for a condo 2nd closest to the ocean. That is an average of $171 for a condo that comfortably fits 6 people. You are right next door to the Radisson and Whyndam. There are two pools one that is heated. A bar/grill that has very good food at USA prices. There are not many places in the Bahamas where 4 people can eat lunch for $30 with a beverage. Plus the people that work there are great.

THE GREAT:

THE STAFF - Bar none the best staff I have ever dealt with better than NYC, Boston, Florida, Europe, D.C., and Mexico. After my first time, when I came for my second trip everyone remebered my name. It makes you feel good. Donita and Valencia who work in the office will help you with anything. Dinner reservations, activities, sightseeing stuff. Lovely and Wanda work the bar/grill. They are just out of this world. They are friendly, fun, nice, decent human beings. You can't have a bad time around them. Hotel people aren't going to treat you like family.

THE LOCATION - Cable Beach. You are right next The Cable Beach Resorts. You can use ther facilities, bars, restaurants, casino. You are a very short walk to all of those. And to my utter joy there is a Starbucks in the Casino. So it is a nice walk and enjoy your coffee staring out into the ocean. Can't beat that morning. You have a small straw market right across the street. And since they are not as busy as the one downtown you get better deals there. You are a short bus ride to the grocery store, dowtown, Sandy Port, Etc. It is just in the middle of everything, can't beat it.

THE GOOD:

THE CONDOS - Now I am a person the doesn't much from a room when I am 25ft from the ocean. Like I said before. They are not luxury but very comfy. Especially the upper units. They have two floors and high ceilings. They have full kitchens (no dishwasher though). But they have coffee maker, blender, microwave, dishes, glasses, etc. The decor of the rooms is typical tropical stuff. The beds are ok when it comes to comfort they are not rock hard or lumpy but, they are not pillow top soft either. Though the pull out couch is quite comfy and large for a pull out. There are 2 bathrooms in these condos. Usual stuff. I find these to be fine for my likings. They clean and spacious. Just not luxury.

The GROUNDS - Two pools (One is heated). Bar/Grill which has some great food with even better prices. They just bought brand new lounge chairs for all of the facilities. Ther are plenty of chairs for the people there. My favorite part is the "ledge". It is the end of the property that is right at the beach and ocean. I love sitting and watching sunsets out there with a coffee(i have a problem) and a cigar. Just chillin. It is just plain calming and relaxing. Oh I did forget that they have a security guard that keeps a good eye on the area.

THE BAD: In all honestly it is to find fault with this place. Maybe the lack of amenities would be it. But truley that is all.

All in all this really is great place for a vaction in Nassau. You can't beat the value. Which is truely underated when coming to the Bahamas. Food is not cheap. That is becuase they import everything but fish. It tends to take up most of your spending money. It is one of the biggest complaints on this website.

The best part of this hotel is that you can get a relaxing vaction and if want excitement all you have to do is walk next door.

PS---Due the Monday night BBQ with the band and Valencia and Wanda singing. Wanda can really sing!! it is $18 for steak, chicken, or fish. Comes with salad, potatoe, and coleslaw. It makes for a great evening.

We stayed at the Westwinds 2 with our family of 5 for a week. We had exchanged our timeshare through RCI for this one, and were very happy with the facilities.
Everyone at the Condo was very friendly and accommodating ... the staff was super!
Our unit was very comfortable and well equipped. We had an upper condo, and the second bedroom was a "loft" room .... our kids loved it! The view from the balcony was awesome (we had one of the units in the front section). You could easily see the ocean, and the grounds were so pretty and well maintained.
The furnishings were adequate, and the pull out queen sofa was comfortable as well.
We had 2 bathrooms which were both in good working order.
Although we had no dishwasher, it was not really a problem as we had lots of help doing dishes when we did cook. The BarBQ's on the property came in handy..
The pool was a bit cool but it was probably due to some heavy winds during the week.
We were able to use the facilities at the Radisson next door (beach, loungers, pool). There was lots of room and no one seemed to mind at all.
We recommend the breakfast buffet at the Wyndham (2 doors down). It cost $17. including tip and taxes, and had an excellent variety of food which lasted us until dinner time.
We loved eating at Johnny Canoes (in front of the Nassau Beach Hotel, which was the other side of the Wyndham). The food was excellent, the price was great and the atmosphere was fun, especially outside on the patio. On Friday evening, the Junkanoo band comes to play .... they are awesome.
Bus #10 takes you right up town and only costs $1. ..... you can catch it right outside the condo.
We also highly recommend the 5 hour tour (I belive it is called Runabout Tours) which is advertised on the office door. Big Al is an excellent tour guide, as he has lived there all his life and knows everything about the island. We got to see so many places we would not have found out about on our own. We even had a picnic on the beach (included in price) .. food was delicious!
We had a wonderful week at Westwinds 2 and can't wait to go back again! Thank you to everyone who works there .... you are amazing and made us feel right at home.

I have been coming here for 23 years. My children have grown up here and we all have made many dear friends. The staff is the most professional group you will find, very caring to all their visitors whether you are owners or not.I own 2 weeks here, looking for a third. My family loves it so much that my brother purchased a week so our children will all be here together in the years to come.It truely is a family and we cherish every year we are able to come. The rooms are bright and sunny and clean and the bar staff is witty and always makes you feel like you are their best friends. The office is knowledgeable and go above and beyond by booking trips, making reservations etc.Everyone should just once in their lifetime experience westwind 11.We have never exchanged our weeks....this is the one sure thing I can count on every year.If there is another vacation,it is in addition....make no mistake of that.

My family & I have been vacationing at Westwind II since we bought our 2 weeks over 15 years ago. We loved it so much we purchased a 2nd condo so that the rest of the family could be with us as well. Westwind II is so perfect that we had the chance to swap weeks through RCI, 2 weeks somewhere else for 1 week at Westwind & we declined. My parents have traveled the world & chose to buy at Westwind II. Through the years we have made many friends & it's great to come back every year & see the same faces. The condos are painted & the furnishings bought new every 5 years. Small appliances & bedding are bought yearly. The management staff, maids & snackbar staff are all very helpful & friendly. I look forward to going to Westwind II every year & would never think of trading or selling my weeks ever.
