First off, let me say that we toured the property as prospective vacation property buyers and did not stay overnight in one of the units. However, being prospective buyers, one would expect that the property management put its best foot forward in trying to market the property.
First, we were offered a presentation/tour, $100 cash and 4 t-shirts to take take a look at the property. Seeing as we love the Bahamas and are considering vacation property there, we thought we'd go along just to see it.
It was the most depressing vacation spot we'd ever seen. We arrived with our two children in tow and were disappointed as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. Let's just say, NO CURB APPEAL. I would be embarrassed to take any of our family members there. The units were old and dated. Even the one that was spruced up to "show off" was worn and uncomfortable. The sales agent kept asking us if we could picture ourselves there and, not wanting to hurt her feelings, we said, "Sure." But we looked at each other with looks that said, "You've gotta be kidding." It is definitely not a place you would want to relax and spend your big vacation. My husband said that he'd rather stay home and get work done around the house on his vacation than stay at this place -- and he's the one that is usually fine with a Ramada Inn!
The food was very limited and OK tasting, but can you imagine eating burgers for a week? The grills were small and old -- unsuitable for cooking a family meal. We had a nicer family grill in the 1970s. No on-site restaurant, no fitness center. If you want a massage/spa experience, you'd better bring a willing partner. They even tried to tell us about all the kids activities they had, but when we asked for details, there weren't any.
I would think that the people that would enjoy this place the most would be people on a tight budget or college students looking to visit the Bahamas on the cheap. But for a family -- NO WAY!
