My wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon. It ended up being perfect for us.
Yes, it is quiet around the resort, but that's the way it is advertised.
The minute that we needed something, the front desk was able to accomidate us. It sounds like the people writing these reviews need to relax a little bit. Things in the Bahamas happen at a little slower of a pace. Realize that before you go there. This isn't NYC. You're on vacation, stop worrying about everything, and enjoy yourself.
We liked that we were 20 minutes away from all of the hustle and bustle. We'd spend half of the day downtown and then come back to the room , relax, eat at the AWESOME oyster bar on site, and then sit on our balcony overlooking the water, and not have to worry about kids screaming or running down a hallway, like at many places you stay.
I highly recommend Sandyport. It was a class act place .
One thing I will say, DON'T USE THE TAXI DRIVER THEY RECCOMEND. His name is Mr."something". He was a complete jerk to us 2 times, and made us feel very uncomfortable, not unsafe, but uneasy. The people in the bahamas are all very friendly, and this guy is a real JERK!!!!!
Do not use him. I know that the guidlines for the reviews say "no personal insults", but I feel this is very important.
He is not an employee of the resort, but he is around enough to make an impression on the resort itself.
Don't use him and you'll love Sandyport.
