Eerily quiet. Felt like we were deserted in some horror film. I went with 5 of my girlfriends and we left after one night. The rooms were filthy, with bugs crawling on the walls. The pull out couch had not been cleaned in years and the sheets had stains. The pool needed some major repairs, and the beach was not the tropical paradise we had planned on seeing. It was SOOOOO FAR from everything. Taxis/buses were a must and the price was ridiculous. We headed to Paradise Island for the rest of our holiday and it was amazing. I do not recommend this resort for anyone. Find somewhere else to stay unless you are looking for uber quiet, no night scene, small beach, and dirty pool/room.

I booked through my timeshare points system and requested my trip points back because the stay was so terrible. I think it might soon be coming off our time share list because of all the complaints.

“Go for the full suite not the studio”

We had initially signed up for a studio/efficiency but had to decline it upon viewing due to a presence of mold, proximity to kids' pool and worn out appearance. The front desk attendant was kind to upgrade us to a full two room suite instead of making us wait for a new studio, even though we were there early. The full suite is quit nice and quiet. It has a full kitchen with gas range, a dining area, a den with a half bath and a large bedroom with a fairly comfortable bed, a jacuzzi, very large walk in closet and a full bath. It is decorated in tropical motif. The large terrace opens directly onto the beach which surrounds the lagoon. The terrace provides a great setting to enjoy the outstanding local (Graycliff) cigar. The suite is spacious enough for one to spend a whole rainy day inside.

“Good Experience”

Stayed at Sandyport during first week of December, 2007 using RCI Points. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Accomodations are good, but does need some minor work and upgrades to make the property excellent. One must remember that this is a small island which requires that almost everything has to be imported, including majority of its drinking water. So patience is important in getting things fixed. One thing that needs clarification is that many units are actually three bedrooms and 3 baths that can be divided and closed off into single and studio units. We had a three bedroom unit and found it to be very comfortable. I suspect that some of the negative comments here have been by those who have stayed in the single units.

We spent Nov. 10 - 17, 2007, at the Sandy Port Beach Resort. We used our RCI timeshare and felt it was one of our more positive RCI experiences. Although the resort can use some updates, it was very clean, and the grounds were immaculate. Local bus service is convenient and inexpensive and safe and affords the opportunity to travel to downtown Nassau, a local food market, etc. Unfortunately, the buses only run until 6 pm. A wonderful restaurant is next to the resort; The Beach Club restaurant sits right on the ocean and has a wonderful atmosphere for good food enjoyed outside with the waves breaking below the dining area. A developing shopping center adjacent to the resort gave other varied dining options an easy walk from the resort, as well as a convenient store. A free shuttle bus ran nightly from the resort to the casino, and that also provided an opportunity to dine at some of the Cable Beach area restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the Italian option at the Sheraton Hotel. Although we were told not to drink the water at the resort, the reception area sold bottled water for only $1.50 per gallon. The pool was lovely, and there were two beach options: one small area directly on the ocean, and another adjacent to the pool and on the marina inlet. Our unit overlooked the inlet and had a pleasant balcony to enjoy the waterfront. We appreciated having free high-speed internet access in the lobby area. This is a QUIET resort and only lacks nightlife options.

“Truly unique location”

Having read all the reviews here, I can't really see what the negatives were. It is a quaint hotel in a stunning location within 30 seconds walk from the beach but on a private calming lagoon! It's truly a unique hotel. Yes of course the Atlantis is going to have more things to do, that's because its 10 times the amount per night and you are a number not a guest. We found the staff thoroughly friendly, eager to help and the location of the hotel is superb. Easy access to the beach and restaurants and part of a beautifully designed development. 10/10 Sandyport!!!
