This property is on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, almost adjacent to the One and Only Beach Club and just down the beach from the world-famous Atlantis, with its fabulous casino and dozens of restaurants. The property consists of 44 comfortable timeshare units. The compact and lushly landscaped property includes two heated pools, one with a commanding view of the beach and sea. Recently appointed "Chef Flo" has revolutionized the cuisine at the Reef Bar and Grill, offering a wide variety of dining options. -- Off-beach snorkeling and fish-viewing.

Nassau-Paradise Island is an ideal vacation location, distinctively exotic and "foreign" but only a few minutes away from South Florida. Comfortable, populated by a remarkably friendly people. Because New Providence-Paradise Island is bathed by the Gulf Stream, its weather is milder in every season than that of South Florida.

My parents have had a time share on this property since 1992. Since then, it has changed hands a few times. I believe the new management started early this year. They have taken great strides to improve this place. The landscaping has improved! The place is clean, clean, clean! Very friendly staff, daily housekeeping, improved mini-mart.
The beach, as always, is gorgeous. It is Cabbage beach and the water is sparkling. You can walk all the way to Atlantis or the other end.....all the way to the million dollar houses.
In November, the water is still quite warm and the beach is not at all crowded.
I was very pleased with my stay and of course, I would come back.
Remember that this place is a timeshare and not a hotel. There is no need to rent a car. Everything on the island is within walking distance or grab a cab to Nassau.
Food is expensive on the island: Food mart and restaurants. There isn't much you can do about that. There are some less-expensive options, like Anthony's or Bimini Road (at Atlantis). Bring some food with you! We often had breakfast in the villa and sometimes lunch.
Don't miss out!

BEACH:
If laying around at the beach is your top priority, then this resort is definitely for you. Beautiful crystal clear water with green and blue shade, white sand, very private, and you can walk along the beach barefooted for miles thinking that you own the beach. When you get tired just go into the water and float.

Caution: watch out for the jelly fish. My wife (along with others got stung by it). Nothing to worry about. Here is a tip: When you go into the water, look around to see what's in the water. Because the water is so clean, mostly you'll find small fishes swimming around. BUT, if you see a 'brown ring' floating around, that's jelly fish. Don't go into that spot, choose another spot.

Also since the beach is still very secluded, some bigger fishes tend to come by once in a while. One time my wife and I (and several other swimmers) could have sworn we saw either barracuda or baby shark....chasing the small fishies.

The water is beautiful, but apply common sense.

PROPERTY:
Overall, the property is good. If you tend to be a clean-oriented person, you will find lots of things sub-par. But if you are willing to let things slide a bit because you're on vacation, the property is OK. It is not a 4 star hotel, so set your expectation properly.

If you stay in the lower number villa (number 9 to 24) then you will have an ocean view. Anything higher number, you won't get an ocean view.

Slow service, but then you're on vacation....so that can be tolerable. However, I must say that the indifference attitude of some of the staff spoiled this property. Stay away from the beach guy. Rude, lazy and did I mention rude?

Pool is OK. Tends to be on the dirtier side (with bugs and hair).
Again, if you're willing to let it slide, you'll still enjoy it.

NOTE: this property is no longer associated with the Harbour Club. So, they does not have 'complimentary' water taxi service to Nassau anymore. However, they do have free bikes for you to go across into Nassau, if you're into working out. I tried it one day, while it was adventurous, I won't recommend it. Taxi to downtown is $10 for 2 people one way.

FOOD: Not so much options for food. The pool bar opens at 11AM and close at 6 PM. They have decent food quality - mostly deep fried seafood or salad, burger and wraps.

If you really want some local Bahamian taste, you have several choices:
1. Wednesday night dinner at the property - must attend. That was the highlight of this property other than the beach. It is $28/person - you get local cooking including live music and entertainment.

2. You have to go to Arawak Cay for fish fry and cheaper food in general.

3. If you want to grill-it-yourself, sign out the bicycle (for free), go across the Paradise Island bridge, and right under the bridge, there is a local seafood market. You can get conch, conch shell and other fresh seafood. Thne bring it back and grill it. The property has some grills.

If you eat out every meal (breakfast, lunch and dinner) be prepared to cough up at least $120/day for 2 people. I think that's conservative.

HIDDEN FEES:
1. $110/week energy surchage. So crank up those AC, get your money's worth.

2. $50/week for daily maid service cleaning....They just replace the towels in my opinion.

GENERAL TIP:
Walk early morning on the beach to the Atlantis. It is a fun thing to do.

Must Check out the Cloister and the Versailles Garden. it is within a walking distance (or you can check out the bike).

If you do decide to ride the bike to downtown, ride on the sidewalk. You should walk the bike when you get to the densely pedestrian area as courtesy, but once you notice not many pedestrian ride your bike again. If a policemen tell you to ride on the street, just follow his instruction until you don't see him again, and go back to the sidewalk. With the traffic flow in the downtown area I think you are putting yourself in danger if you ride on the street.

If you are checking out on Saturday, keep in mind that there will be a mass exodus of fellow tourist at the airport. So leave plenty of time since there will be 2 security checks and immigration process (not to mention the check in process).

I hope this is useful, and enjoy the pictures.

I stayed here a couple of years ago. There were both good things and bad things about the place. The hotel is a smaller, modest, but overall clean hotel.
First of all we rented a car. When we got to the place they had a very, very small parking lot. We had to wait an hour for someone to leave so we could park our car. We didn't want to park on the street, because we didn't know what the laws were in terms of street parking.
All the staff were very friendly and cordial and willing to help as much as they could. Check-in was a breeze. Drink service on the other hand was a bit slow. The bartenders would take their time in making drinks, and most of the time the bar was not even full. But to wait a half hour for drinks when there are four other couples at the bar was a bit ridiculous. But, what was fun was the shots they would give out. Everyone would do a shot at the same time, so that was nice.
The room was nothing spectacular, but I really have no complaints. The bed was nothing special, hard like alot of other places, but I wasn't expecting the "hotel collection". The room was clean, bright, open, and not smelly. The bathroom looked, good. No mold or mildew. We had a balcony which was nice.
The food was interesting. The beach bar had the worst food. First of all conch is illegal to kill and eat. I believe they are endagered? Anyways, they served conch fritters, (which I will admit, I tried). Don't bother. They put a little piece or two of conch in this gigantic fried batter. And basically you ate a small "muffin" to get to the conch in the middle. Nothing spectacular. If you wanted a frozen drink, they had slushy machines, which were pretty much liquid drinks, because the machines were under the sun. So that wasn't pleasant. They served well liquor. But the resturaunt inside served very decent food and wine. I would definitely recommend eating inside if possible. The serving staff was very polite, and they had a really good piano player.
They also had a little gift shop which I liked, because I needed a new pair of sandals, and bought some reefs, which were about 24 usd. You could get your basic amenities.
The pool was very small and croweded. But it seemed very clean and maintained.

While you are in nassau, there are three places I recommend going. One is to Atlantis. It is a beautiful casino resort and hotel. Not to mention I won a couple hundred dollars on seventy-five cents. Next is the Bahama Rum Cake Factory. They give free samples, and they make great gifts. Last is going to the Bacardi Factory and taking a tour. You get free samples at the end, and can buy bacardi liquor for very cheap!

But to be honest, I don't think I would ever visit nassau again. It did not have alot of clubs or bars, and most things closed very early. Any questions??

  • Liked — The staff were really friendly and sincere.
  • Disliked — The slowness of service and drink quality, and how crowded the pool was.

I have a timeshare at PIBC. The condo is very spacious with two bedrooms and two full baths, a dining area, full kitchen, and living room. Each unit also has a balcony or patio as well. VERY ROOMY! We did have some maintenance issues with rain coming through the front window and leaking onto the floor which we notified the front desk about but was not addressed during our stay.
The pools are nice too. One pool is in the front and shallow, basically for kids. The one near the rear is heated and deeper. There is also the Reef Bar there which serves great food!
The beach is clean but small. There are nice lounge chairs for the beach. If you walk down the beach to the right...away from Atlantis, there is a large piece of coral sticking out into the ocean that creates a nice calm cove. You can snorkle along the coral and see fish and find conch shells and sand dollars.
We walked one day to Atlantis from our hotel along the beach. I would not reccommend this with kids, on a hot day, and your already tired!
The so called game room was not very good. There were no ping pong balls for the table and the machines were broken.
The minimart had a pretty good selection and the prices were reasonable...for the Bahamas, that is. The staff could have been a little more friendly.
The shuttle and water taxi is a very nice feature. It takes you downtown scheduled times throughout the day.
There is a dinner, on Wednesday night, I think, where you pay per person and have a Bahamian Style buffee, but you have to pay for your drinks!!!??? Very disappointing. We did it in 2006 during our stay but not during 2007.
The most disappointing part of our vacation was another sales pitch. We already have a timeshare at PIBC and we were told that if we come and listen to another presentation, we would get a gift certificate or something. Well, we have two kids, 5yo and 10yo, so my husband went without me. He's a big boy, he doesn't need me there. Well, they told him that if I wasn;t there that we wouldn't get the gift certificate. He sat through the presentation which was basically trying to get us to switch from weeks to point and have to pay more money, yada yada, yada. We didn't do it. It just made us upset.
If your looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing vacation, without a lot of pampering, PIBC is for you!
