We stayed at the Sunrise Beach Villas 3/13/08-3/19/08 #206. We hired a taxi before we got there based on anothers advise, Taxi #824 Westley Ferguson, really nice guy and very nice cab. It's hit and miss and some don't have A/C or don't use it, and if you aren't use to the heat it can be uncomfortable. His cell is [--], or Hm [--]. He was also less expensive by a couple bucks!
We had a great time at Stuart's Cove snorkeling adventure. (Go early it's calmer) Three stops, 1st really nice reef, 2nd much deeper area not as good as 1st stop and 3rd stop sharks and huge grouper. We did the Aquarium at Atlantis and the Ardastra Zoo, both really good.
We chose Sunrise for the grilling ability, as we both have a problem with eating out every night. Plus, the proximity to Atlantis without the cost, the access to the beach, the pools and the separate living/sleeping areas, as my husband likes to stay up late. What a great choice. We brought alot of staples and stopped at the market on the way in from the Airport. There's a nicer store in town a little past the exit bridge off Paradise. Probably more expensive, but much cleaner and more options. So if you are picky go to this one, if you like hanging with the locals go to the store out by the airport. Westley will know.
Don't come early morning if you can help it, the traffic into Nassua can be backed up for miles and you'll just sit.
If you don’t want to pay $150 for breakfast, skip going to One and Only. If you don’t want to pay $400 for dinner for two w/ Champagne don’t go to the Steak house down by the Harbor at Atlantis. This is one expensive island. We were able to grill Chicken and had rice and salad, I brought tuna and we had that for lunch, I brought bacon and we bought eggs all meat and bread I brought was frozen when I left and still frozen when we unpacked nine hours later. Worked out great for us, we love villa living much more than hotel rooms, there’s more ambiance and feels more like home.
