Spent a long weekend there with a group of friends. The hotel and rooms are very well done. 5 Star quality in terms of design size layout etc.
Staying at the Cove which is a huge hotel by itself - does give you some separation from the throngs at the other Atlantis properties. But you are still close enough to get to the casinos water park mall etc easily.
The adults only pool Cain - is great - quite a scene if that is what you are looking for - nicely setup with enough space and the outdoor bar and casino are well done. Get a cabana if you want some privacy - they are very well done and give you great access to both the pool and the beach. If your are with a few people worth the $600 per day.
The place is very expensive - Cain more so then the rest of the property - but not too surprising given the room rates.
Service is far from great - very friendly but never very prompt or helpful. A bit too much of the laid back island attitude given the prices they are charging but not too different then what you see all throughout the Caribbean.
Mesa grill was a highlight - excellent food - you can also get on tables fairly easily at the casino they seem to staff up as needed so none of the tables are fully booked at the various limits.
Golf - the Ocean Club is a very nice resort course - good conditions nice layout great views - its expensive $260 but comparable to other high end public courses. Certainly worth a round if you like to play.
Two major complaints - 1) despite booking a large party and booking very far in advance - when we called almost two months in advance we could not get a table at any of the featured restaurants Mesa , Nobu etc - at normal eating times - only 5:30 or 10:30. We were finally able to get in through the use of a casino host by one of our fellow travelers but that shouldn't be necessary. 2) its a bit alarming the number of 16 and 17 year olds running around the bars and nightclubs - if that is what you are looking for you are in luck - but for anyone over 25 its seems very strange - and god knows what the parents are thinking . . .
