The Cove Atlantis

Spent a long weekend there with a group of friends. The hotel and rooms are very well done. 5 Star quality in terms of design size layout etc.

Staying at the Cove which is a huge hotel by itself - does give you some separation from the throngs at the other Atlantis properties. But you are still close enough to get to the casinos water park mall etc easily.

The adults only pool Cain - is great - quite a scene if that is what you are looking for - nicely setup with enough space and the outdoor bar and casino are well done. Get a cabana if you want some privacy - they are very well done and give you great access to both the pool and the beach. If your are with a few people worth the $600 per day.

The place is very expensive - Cain more so then the rest of the property - but not too surprising given the room rates.

Service is far from great - very friendly but never very prompt or helpful. A bit too much of the laid back island attitude given the prices they are charging but not too different then what you see all throughout the Caribbean.

Mesa grill was a highlight - excellent food - you can also get on tables fairly easily at the casino they seem to staff up as needed so none of the tables are fully booked at the various limits.

Golf - the Ocean Club is a very nice resort course - good conditions nice layout great views - its expensive $260 but comparable to other high end public courses. Certainly worth a round if you like to play.

Two major complaints - 1) despite booking a large party and booking very far in advance - when we called almost two months in advance we could not get a table at any of the featured restaurants Mesa , Nobu etc - at normal eating times - only 5:30 or 10:30. We were finally able to get in through the use of a casino host by one of our fellow travelers but that shouldn't be necessary. 2) its a bit alarming the number of 16 and 17 year olds running around the bars and nightclubs - if that is what you are looking for you are in luck - but for anyone over 25 its seems very strange - and god knows what the parents are thinking . . .

The Cove is certainly a 5 star hotel. The room we had was outstanding - 2 plasma TV's - detailed woodwork; 5-star bedding; bathroom had everything you can imagine. They have also managed to upgrade the service well beyond what you expect from the Bahamas. The adult pool was amazing / great perk of this hotel!

But...........bring your wallet! Drinks at the pool - $11-$18. Lunch for 2 at the pool - $65. Also, it's quite a walk to the slides and casino. There is a shuttle every 15 mins, however. All that said, I would stay there again in a minute.

Finally, if you are going with kids, I would suggest the Royal Towers, as they are closer to the aquariums, and not sure that you want to spend 675/night and not be able to use the audult pool.

Enjoy!

“Overpriced!”

The Cove Atlantis

I think this is a great hotel with alot of activities - especially for children. But it is way overpriced! You think you pay alot for a room, but the food and drinks were outrageous! $7 for an ice cream bar by the pool. $12 for a hot dog. Breakfast buffet for 2 in the Cove - $100. Drinks $18 each. And paying that much i would think superb service and great food. Average on both spectrums. Not worth the price.

I thought the hotel had alot of great features and alot of great exhibits to look at, but the prices just turned me off. And the main pool areas had so many chairs lined up back to back, you coulpdn't even walk through them. Thank goodness for the adult pool - but get there early. Chairs there fill up fast!

Anyway, I wouldn't go back here again at those prices. i would rather hit a high end all inclusive in Cancun any day!

“Love it, Love it, Love it!!!!!”

We have been to the Atlantis and stayed at the Beach Tower twice. We decided to splurge this time and stay at The Cove. We were soooo happy we did!! Our room over looked the entire property, which is a BIG plus for me! I am an early bird and loved making coffee (Starbucks) each morning and just gazed out at the awesome surroundings! The Mosaic was phenomenal for breakfast and dinner. Mesa Grill was fabulous! Casa D'Angelo was superb!
Days were spent by the Cove Beach where it is serene and you can float your cares away!! Afternoons we ventured to "The Current" and had a blast!!
The entire staff was excellent and really made our stay memorable! Our daughter actually starting to cry the night before we left because she was having such an amazing time and didn't want it to end. We will definitely be back, no question about it!
This is truly PARADISE!!

Yes - the cove is expensive, but didn't you know that when you booked it??

I went with two friends for a little R&R, which was easy to find, as was the fun and excitement.

I applaud the architects of this amazing complex. There is so much attention to detail it is astounding.

Drinks are $18.00 apiece. Bring a bottle of what ever you drink with you - save yourself $120 per day at the pool. Then blow it in the casino. Whatever your pleasure the Atlantis complex can accommodate you!

If spending money annoys you, then stay home, the Cove/Atlantis is not for you!
