We took an excursion with Kayak Nature Tours (through Grand Bahama Nature Tours Ltd.); we did the Kayak/Cave tour.
Kayaking was more difficult than we imagined. Let's just say we had trouble navigating the kayak without hitting the mangroves. Regardless, the ecosystem is quite impressive and worth the trip.
Following the kayaking, we made the trip to Gold Rock Beach. Whatever you do, don't miss the trip to Gold Rock Beach. It's the most unbelievable place with its wide sandy beaches and pristine waters.
The tour provided a very basic lunch. If you're a large, hungry man I would suggest bringing a snack, as the sandwich, apples and cookies left a little to be desired.
After lunch we toured the caves at Lucayan National Park. We were lucky to have Ben as our tour guide. He told us the most captivating story about how the caves were found and the role he played in the discovery. In fact, Ben's Cave is named after him.
Overall, the excursion was well worth the money. Next time we plan to try the company's Peterson Cay Kayak Snorkel Tour.
