We had a great time! The beaches were the best we have seen.
Everything is right there close and the people are very friendly.
Our unit 1602 was perfect!! Clean, up to date and had everything we needed with a great view of the ocean.

We just got back from a fabulous 6 nights and Coral Beach - we stayed in #1503 (Liz & Don's) and couldn't have had a better experience. The condo was clean and well-stocked w/every item we needed (pots, pans, beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, hair dryer, etc!) We took our three year old and cooked in the kitchen 3 nights. The complex is older, but still great. I was hesitant at first to book b/c some of the reviews of the complex are so bad, but we had such a marvelous time. The beach is spotless, no trash and practically deserted. The water is CRYSTAL clear - we made friends with the local sting ray (Mr. Ray to our daughter!) and had fun following him as he swam down the beach. The pool is very clean and was uncrowded - when it was "crowded" there were only four other people besides us!! It was so relaxing and peaceful. That being said, if you are looking for a resort with lots of activities this is NOT the place for you. Also, it was built in the early 70's so things are a little worn around the edges, but things age quickly in the salt air anyway. The gardens are lovely and for $90 a night beachfront the place is a steal! I didn't want to write a good review, because I was afraid more people would come and crowd our little piece of paradise, but it is too beautiful NOT to write about :-) Feel free to contact me if you have questions. We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Freeport Bahamas and are possibly looking to re-book for next year.

We decided to book the double apartment owned by Michael Westenhoefer as we have two young children and really wanted the extra space for them to be able to play if the sun was too hot at midday.

I am so glad that we did, it worked brilliantly. There was a queen sized double bed and a sofa bed in each apartment, this meant a very peaceful, cool, nights sleep for everyone. It also meant that we could put the children to bed and sit in the other apartment or outside on the patio and enjoy a beer or glass of wine.

The apartment was cool and the air conditioning worked well which meant that when the kids needed a break they could come inside play with their toys, watch a DVD and there was still plenty of space. Also 2 bathrooms were very valuable.

The location of the apartments is great because you only have to go outside to the pool, and also the beach is about a minute from your apartment door.

As security was a concern of mine (particularly after events in Portugal) Coral Beach has a secure reception that you have to go through before actually getting to the apartments this is usually locked at 10:30pm and you have to have a key to get in. There is always a security guard on at reception too.It's just that extra bit of piece of mind.

We were lucky as we have family in Freeport had previous knowledge of the area but I did still want the accomodation that we had to be pleasant, these apartments were perfect. If you are considering taking as family out to Freeport then I would definately suggest going to the extra few dollars and having the double apartment you'll be relaxed.

You don't plan to be inside for great lengths of time in the Carribean, but unpack and relax in the knowledge that you can return to a very comfortable place.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in the penthouse (#1704) at Coral Beach. The entire unit (which is very large - 4 bedrooms) appeared to be freshly painted, very clean and with the added bonus of spectacular views from the roof top deck. Beautiful sunsets! There is direct access to the beach from the pool area. Sitting by the pool with a good book was one of our favorite things to do. It's quiet and very relaxing.
We enjoyed the local restaurants - La Dolce Vita on the harbor was our favorite. The best bread pudding we have ever had! The casino was also a lot of fun.
Overall, I would highly recommend this property. It's large enough for a family and the layout is great for two couples to share, each having their own bedroom and bath for privacy.
Personally, I can't wait to go again.
