This resort is heaven! You can't go but once but every year to relax and really feel like it's a vacation. Everyone is very friendly and accomodating to your every whim. A place not to be missed. Shoes are not required!

If you are looking for a slice of the out-island bahamian life, look no further. Secluded beaches; calming waters; endless night skies; personal & very friendly service that respects privacy; a bevy of water toys at your disposal; a well stocked honor bar. No complications, just options on how to spend another beautiful Cat Island day.
We found the rooms to be minimal, yet very clean & more than adequate for our week of beachcombing. The 'outdoor' bathroom was enjoyable & interesting. The breakfast buffet was a wonderful start to the day; lunch is a limited yet yummy menu; dinner is again buffet style with a limited selection of two entrees.
Don't miss taking the kayaks out to explore the nearby creek, we were lucky enough to spot turtles, pufferfish, and a baby shark. The small secluded beaches were great for shelling and relaxing.
We rented a car for 2 days and explored the rest of the island (don't miss the hermitage), as well as the other 2 resorts on the southern end of the island. . . we made the best lodging choice on the island.
We hope to return for much more of the same!

Stayed at Fernandez Bay Village from July 16-21. One of the most beautiful and realxing places i've ever visited. My girlfriend and I stayed in Crabby Cottage. It was located right next to the bar and gift shop.
The room was nice and the air conditioning was adequate once I gave the air filter a quick cleaning.

There are three meals served each day. Breakfast is from 8-10am, lunch from 12-2pm and dinner begins with appetizers at the bar at 7:30pm. All of the food was excellent. Dinner was served buffett style.
Each night there was a meat dish (beef, lamb), and a fish dish, along with an excellent salad and a selection of vegetables. I thought the different desserts they served each night were excellent.

The beach had the softest sand and most crystal clear water i've ever seen. There are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas along the uncrowded beach. When we were there, I believe there were only around 16 to 20 people staying at the resort. It really is very uncrowded and private.

If you go, bring some good bug spray (deep woods off). During the day, there is no problem, but at night, you will get eaten without some good repellant. The bugs here are no worse than the ones in my back yard in NJ. Just come prepared.

If you are going to Cat Island, be prepared to relax. There is no night life, very few restaurants and no shopping centers. We spent our days reading on the beach, Kayaking, snorkeling and meeting new friends.
The staff at Fernandez Bay is Excellent. They really treat you like family.
Everyone from the owners, to the kitchen staff were very helpful and polite. I can't wait to go back.

My husband & I just returned from FBV. We stayed 3 nights in the Coral Cottage. We have visited other tropical destinations in the past, but none have compared to FBV. The beach here is second to none. Walk right out of your room on to the beach. The food was great. The bar is well stocked, however can get pricey. My suggestion is to hit the local store & buy drinks, beer, etc & keep them in your fridge in your room. Other wise your bar bill will be more that your room. The rooms are small, but sufficient. The outdoor showers took some getting use to, but turned out to be very refreshing after a day at the beach. The room did not stay as cool as my husband and I tend to like it, just a small window unit. All in all, this is a place my husband and I plan to come back to time & time again. If what you are looking for is a place to relax, a lot of peace & quiet, this is the place for you.
