Okay, first of all, let me say that service in Great Exuma is just generally on island time. It took well over 2 hours to review menu, order, eat and pay bill. So, the 2 hour dinner is "sort of" the norm on the island. The setting here is lovely if you do have to wait, but we didn't - thankfully. What was odd here was that the staff seemed to be having some kind of issue with management. We were told to give our tip directly to our waiter or they wouldn't see any of it. We thought that was very odd.
Next, if there has been any rain at all and there is no breeze, there will be mosquitos, sand fleas, biting flies all over the island. That said, we just figured it out quick and used DEET in the evening. We didn't notice the bugs here any worse than other places. It was a bit disconcerting to walk up to be seated and look into the kitchen and see a kitchen worker spraying a thick cloud of bug spray to kill the flies covering the screen window inside the kitchen (yuck). Again, I think this is typical for the island though and I can't really ding them on something that is common to every restaurant.
The setting is the prettiest on the island, in my opinion. The food was good. They were out of a lot of menu items (again typical for restaurants on GE) and so there was nothing on the entree list I could eat that they were sure didn't have garlic in it (I am allergic). I just ordered pita bread and ate a bit of a greek salad, which was very good. My family liked their dishes very much - son loved the sweet and sour shrimp.
I would go back - but hope that they had more entrees available.

I thank you for taking the time to review Catch a Fire . I note all your comments but would like to follow up on two of the issues ,you raised. As the owner ,i have instigated a policy , of not including gratuities ,in our prices , in the hope that staff will give the best possible service and quality of product ,to our clients! All gratuities recieved are collected behind the bar, and are shared amongst ALL the staff weekly, in their entirety.

Being told by one of the servers to give gratuities ,directly to them or they would not see them ,is a straight forward lie ! It is a case of a selfish server stealing from their own colleagues .
They are wanting to take all gratuities for themselves. I will adress this issue for the benefit of the rest of the staff .
The issue of you being unable to get a garlic free meal , was another example of an untruth !
Our chef would have been totatally happy to prepare you a full meal , garlic free, had the server requested it !
I appreciate your comments as it helps me, to take neccessary actions to improve our clients experience.
we hope to see you in the future .
