After renting a villa on exuma and realizing it was not what was advertised we left in search of a new destination. Wow what a pleasant surprise from the minute we walked into the lobby. The girl behind the desk Macarra was Spectacular and could be not helpful, not only was she simpathetic to our situation she had the bar send in drinks for us and became a fast friend. When she showed us our villa we were in awe, we got a two bedroom oceanview it was two stories with top of the line everything! We have traveled extensively and the best villa in st barth's did not look like this. The experience only got better, we were treated wonderfully by ALL staff. Everyone knew our name and the girls behind the bar and in the restaurant were fabulous. The food at the restaurant was better than the four seasons as well as the beach service was great.

We met another couple who were staying at the four seasons and we showed our villa to, they were in awe. They were paying over 1,000. per night for a room and our whole villa overlooking the ocean was half that. We can not say enough about the resort. The people who worked there really made the experince and Macarra was sooooo great as well as all the staff.

We booked a return trip before we left, we loved having the golf cart to go to the casino and liquor/grocery store. The people on the island were very friendly. We bonefished almost everyday and my husband loved his guide. We can't say one negative thing about grand isle.

The only negative thing was the owners of the villa we orignally rented did not refund our money. Don't rent villa ellie mae/bahamas paradise.

Other than that it was great!

“Great Stay for the Price”

Grand Isle Resort & Spa

Save Review

New York, NY

We stayed at Grand Isle in May for 5 nights. We stayed in a two bedroom villa next to the pool with a view of both the pool and water/beach. The kitchens are really well appointed and the interior furnishings are great. Golf cart is provided for ease getting around.

The beach and water is good, but if you walk a short distance closer to the Four Seasons you will find the water is better with less plant growth in the water.

Pool area is great and was usually quiet. Bar is available and occasionally someone will stop to ask if you need anything, but usually you have to help yourself.

The grocery store is a short ride on the golf cart or easy walk. We had breakfast and lunch in our villa each day. We ate food at the restaurant one night and found it to be okay, but certainly not worth the price. The rest of our stay we had dinner in our villa two nights and at the Four Seasons two nights. Dinner at the Four Seasons (Il Cielo) was excellent, and actually cheaper than at the hotel.

Overall service is good and always friendly.

If you're expecting Four Seasons service, this isn't your place. If you're looking for the amenities of a Four Seasons, a fully equipped villa and to save a few hundred dollars per night, then you have found your hotel at the Grand Isle.

“An Island Not To Miss!!”

Grand Isle Resort & Spa

Hello Beautiful. Wish we were still there. The most luxurious hotel suite on a Bahamas island you may not know of yet. Oversized and plush, from the huge walk-in shower to the 50" plasma TV, to the gourmet kitchen. Breakfast outside on our huge private balcony with the sparkling mesmerizing turquoise ocean view was the perfect start to an amazing weekend.

A short one hour flight from Miami and pickup by the resort, in less than 2 hours from home, we were transported to a true tropical paradise. A semi-private elevator (shared with only one other guest) wisked us to the most beautiful "hotel room" you could imagine. Two comfy sofas and two chairs around the large plasma TV with the views always of blue, blue water. Large jetted tub with a separate huge walk-in shower in the master bedroom was only outdone by the over pillowed beds, black out curtains and wonderful sheets.

My wife and I came to Exuma to not only relax, but to continue our quest to see new places. The perfect day trip was from the resort to the next island (connected by a small bridge), Little Exuma and the beach marker for the Tropic of Cancer. Many choices for side trips along the way, shopping in George Town's straw market or just one of the many beautiful picnic spots.

By the way, at the resort, they have grouper sandwiches at the pool bar and grill that are the best we've ever tasted. Help with our transportation, tips on what to see and do, best food choices, the staff at Grand Isle was not only friendly, but very helpful. You could tell they really care.

“Awesome Villas-Great for our family vacation”

Grand Isle Resort & Spa

11 Apr 2008

We stayed at Grand Isle in March for 6 nights. We stayed in a two bedroom villa that was awesome. Kids had own bedroom! The kitchens are really well appointed and the interior furnishings are amazing. As a family this was a great vacation for us.

The food was very good overall and the service was great. If you like good seafood you will like the restuarant here.

Service in our villa was great. We needed a high chair and someone brought one right over when we arrived. Anytime we called for anything they were right on it.

We all enjoyed the beach and pool area very much. Highly recommend Grand Isle for a family vacation. Next time we are staying at a 3 bedroom with another couple.

Having a golf cart for zipping around was also great and a nice free extra.

“Total Relaxation”

Grand Isle Resort & Spa

8 Apr 2008

Our trip to Grand Isle Resort and Spa was wonderful. It exceeded our expectations in all areas. The facility was incredible, the staff were extremely friendly and the scenery was breath taking. We enjoyed every aspect of the trip. We are looking forward to another visit. The spa maybe completed then and possibly a marine restaurant they had advertised.
