Very natural campsite, find your own pitch almost wherever you want, pitches to suit all.
Male toilet block is a brand new porta cabin style, immaculate and well appointed, although looked a little out of place in the natural surroundings, a purpose built one would look much nicer. Cant comment on the ladies (honest).
We ended up on the family area by mistake due to poor signs, (3 blokes) don't make that mistake as must be the noisiest part of site as there were 3 Glaswegian males with about 6 kids between them and all they did all day was smoke drugs, drink beer and shout at their kids in foul language, this continued into early hours and even early morning. Thank god they left early Sunday morning.
The site was very busy over the weekend due to the incredible weather, although due to its set up didnt feel crowded, cleared out during Sunday. If you are not at the bar Clachaig Inn yourself there is a bit of noise from campers returning after a bit much to drink, you also hear the singing of the people passing on their way back to the youth hostel along the road.
The food is very nice in the Clachaig Inn and only about 10 mins walk max, nice beer to and live music, all good after a hard day in mountains.
Great to have fires as this keeps the dreaded midgie away. Lucky for us the weather was that hot no midgies during the day or morning apart from Tuesday morning not so warm and damp.
We were eaten alive ran from tents at 6.45 in morning straight into car and into hills.
A river runs through the site with a very deep slow moving section, great for swimming in.
Although the site is advertised £7.50 per night on the internet it is actually £9 but the male showers are free and not £0.50, the internet site needs updating. Not a great difference but false advertising.
All in all a great campsite with great mountains all round you, just beware of the MIDGIES.
