The friendliest thing about this hotel is Rusty the dog!!
On arriving we were checked in by Scott, a nice guy, who then showed us to our room, which was very large pleasant and clean. Plenty of drawer space and a decent sized wardrobe. Plenty of informative booklets about places to visit. They have nice touches.. fruit, chocolates, a well kept drinks tray. The bathroom was clean, nice and modern although silicone getting slightly discoloured, complimentary toiletries etc the towels are the largest, whitest and fluffiest i have seen in any hotel. A nice welcome letter from Mr G Lamb who in the letter came across as a man who would be approachable and happy to help with anything that would make your stay enjoyable....well how wrong could one be. He wasn't a friendly approachable host he doesn't make you feel welcome, he looks down on you!! Its the paying guests that keep any hotel and staff going (when the owner is away playing golf) ...remember that!
The food at this hotel is of a very high standard. The negative however is that you aren't left to eat it at your leisure. The waiter/waitress although nice just seemed to rush you and want you out so they could set the tables for breakfast....not good! This hotel has no background music which leaves the place with no atmosphere, you don't have to have thumping music but nice relaxing piano or guitar or swing would be good....!
On checking out Mrs lamb was nice and sociable, we can't say our stay was unpleasant and we would recommend it to others, it all depends what you are looking for, its a fantastic relaxing location, excellent chef and a lovely building but when we left we felt a weight had been lifted from our shoulders....!
