Long time Tripadvisor user - though never compelled until now to write a review...

My wife and I recently visited the Rock House at the advice of friends to celebrate our 11th anniversary. We arrived with high expectations but left with those expectations greatly exceeded.

The hotel is impeccably decorated, serves tremendous cuisine, and the service is easily the best on the island.

The food bears no resemblance to traditional bahamain food. Could just as well be eating at a top restaurant in midtown (albeit with exceptionally better views!). We even canceled our reservations at another spot for our last night so we could enjoy one final dinner. If it is on the menu - order the Grouper.

Wallace & Don (the owners) are tireless and cater to your every whim. They bring new meaning to the word "at your service." They made us feel so welcomed that by the end of our stay we felt as though we were saying goodbye to friends. Also would reccomend Wallace's Bloody Mary - not to be missed.

We would (and already have!) strongly reccomend the Rock House. Already counting the days to a return visit...

My wife and I recently got back from a two week stay at the rock house and it was absolutely perfect. We both travel over a hundred days a year and have stayed at most of the "Top Rated Hotels" listed in the travel magazines. The Rock House is without question the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The owners bent over backwards for us and are constantly trying to improve (an impossible task because this place is perfect). One little secret many people are not aware of is the Rock house serves lunch for guests and those who make reservations. This is the best lunch and dinner spot on the entire island. We live in Chicago and are very critical when it comes to food. I would argue that the food here is as good or even better than the BEST restaurants in Chicago. Make reservations for dinner in advance this place books up. One last tip...... there is a popular lunch place on the island that is all hype (rhymes with Hip Hip). The owners are rude and the food is just O.K.. You are better off making a reservation at the Rock House!

Rock House deserves all superlatives. Harbor Island is a little utopia of lovely people and Rock House is open and embracing. I loved my stay there. For such a place $400/night is a bargain, honest. If I could afford to live here permanently I would. Enough said.

We are late writing this review late -- we stayed at the Rock House over Thanksgiving this year and had a fantastic five nights.
I am reluctant to admit this because we don't want anything to change for next year, but this hotel was THE PERFECT place to be for Thanksgiving -- not heavily booked that week, and the service by the Rock House staff all week was incredible. Our Thanksgiving dinner at the Hotel restaurant was by far the most delicious Thanksgiving meal we have ever had.

To begin with, Harbour Island is an incredible place, and this was our third time vacationing there. We previously stayed at Coral Sands, which we also enjoyed very much. But the Rock House is definitely taking it up a few notches. The setting of the hotel is spectacular, with a number of the rooms looking right out over the arriving and departing boats on the Bay. Beautiful sunsets every day to be observed from the balcony of your room, unwinding after a day at the beach.

It takes about 60 seconds to drive your golf cart from the Hotel to the beach, where the Rock House has one of the nicest sections of Harbour Island's incredible beach reserved for its guests, with the most comfortable beach chairs. Each morning, the Rock
House staff places a cooler by your beach chairs with ice, bottled waters, beers (if you want them) and a picnic lunch (if you want it).

The service at the Rock House is fantastic (which is not always the case in the Bahamas, even at the nicer hotels) and they know by the second day what drinks to bring you when you are lounging by their beautiful pool. They treat guests like royalty, and though their amazing restaurant is frequently booked, their guests can always ensure themselves a table, even if they ask late in the day.

The rooms are beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail and comfort.

We will definitely be coming back! (and apologies to Wallace, Don and all the Rock House's wonderful staff for writing this review so late!).
