We're regular travellers to the Highlands - we've often looked in at North Kessock but never ventured inside. On our most recent trip up-north we broke our Bristol-Poolewe journey at North Kessock.
To get the negatives done first - as other posters have pointed out, the decor is not the most modern around, but in the grand scheme... who cares. It's not untidy, and sits well with its environment.
The hotel is in North Kessock "village", so within 5 minutes of the Kessock Bridge with good access from the A9 - the views from the front of the hotel overlooking "Dolphin Alley" rather nice. The room itself was well-appointed, the usual comforts - we only used the restaurant for breakfast but that was pretty good standard.
