We decided to go to Acapulco one day prior to our checking in at the Grand Mayan and this hotel was nearby. Also, it was reasonable and had 2 bedrooms so would accomodate our family. What a miserable way to begin our vacation!

First, the unit had been closed up without a/c so was very hot. The website advertised air conditioning but it was only in the bedrooms (small wall units) and not very effective. We asked the manager for a new water bottle and then left to go out for dinner. Our son decided to transfer $100 from his wallet to his suitcase since we were walking to a nearby restaurant and he didn't want to carry too much cash. Alas, when we returned, the $100 was missing. We have no doubt it was taken by the manager...he was the only one in the room and knew we would be gone for awhile.

Needless to say, our "bargain" wasn't such a bargain afterall!
