Used itravel2000 through AirTransat. Perfect trip with Westjet, best airline out there. Use it if coming from Canada.

This resort is older, but very nice. Rooms are average. Good size, nice and clean, but very average. And yes, on couple with us did have a big black scorpion the last night. Keep those suitcases closed and check your shoes.

I liked the walking. Despite a huge resort, everything easily accessible. I walked down every morning to get my place by the pool, walked back to my room, walked down for breakfast, and started my day of doing nothing. Perfect.

Pools- very average and a little older. Welcome back to th 80's. Olympic size pools, tennis and squash courts. But we did sit by the pool most days as my wife doesn't like the beach. It was fine, but again, perfectly average. Not like the new resorts with pools you can wade into. And yes, the water is probably clean, but the green bottom makes it look a little off.

Beaches- best part of the vacation. From snorkling, to kayaking, to the catamarans. Awesome. And rent the Sea-Doo. Great jumps off the waves. All perfect except the jellyfish one day. And yes, watch the coral. As you can see from one of my pictures, when the tide goes out, it goes out fast. Don't get caught over it.

And lastly, the food. Very average to poor. Some meals were very good. Others not so good. Could usually find something to eat but really worried at the preparation. For example, no gloves worn. Most resorts make employees us gloves to serve and prepare food. Just watch the ladies spread cheese on your omelette with their bare hands. And see the raw chicken in its own blood sitting by the oven for the whole lunch hour. All I can saw is be safe. Only heard of a few cases of people sick. And the restaurants were quite good. Only ate one night at the buffet. Not so good, so next 6 were in town and at a la cartes.

Town- lots of fun. Great pina coladas at the Iguana Bar, food super affordable. Ate at Agave right across from the town green 3 nights. Pretty good food, loved the Argentinian Steak. And drinks very affordable. Dinner and drinks for two for less than $40. And a great place to people watch. Like the man, woman and baby on a moped. Don't see that everyday.

Overall, just see the hotel class listed on this site. It is a two star. But it is a great two star, and a average 4 star. It was perfectly average, and we were OK with that. And the shows are really bad. Anyone who has been to a resort with shows will know what I mean. And if you haven't, it will be just fine. The good news, we meet some great people. With the relaxed atmosphere and the limited night life, we actually talked to people. And played pool. And smoked cigars. And went to town with them. The lack of entertainment actually may have made it better.

Overall, a good place to go. If your expectations are just a nice place to relax, this will be perfect. Again, just watch what you eat. I did and was just fine. You'll see what I mean. And order the fish soup at the Morroccan Restaurant. I was afraid to after hearing the stories. Would love to get a picture of it to see what I missed.

We just returned from Las Brisas staying there from Mar. 10 thru Mar 17. We are in our late fifties and stayed there with our son and daughter in law. I don’t know where Brickietom went but it could not be the same hotel. I do agree with him about La Crucecita, very disappointing.
By far the best thing about the Las Brisas is the staff. Almost everyone is young and you seldom pass anyone that you don’t get a genuine smile and an “hola”. I don’t know how many people work there but it must be hundreds. Every employee wears a uniform consistent with their job and they are spotless.
We had a budget class room in the Estrellas section and we went with every intention of upgrading when we got there. We liked our room so much we did not upgrade. Our room was spotless the whole time we were there and the view was beautiful. Our son had a junior suite and aside from having a table in the room we liked the smaller room better because it was cooler.
Tipping-We tipped the maid every day and I believe it makes a difference. We tipped the mini bar person some days and it made very little difference. We tipped the guys who bring you drinks on the beach part of the time and believe me they deserve it. Everyone works very hard here and no one acts like they expect a tip or makes you feel funny if you don’t.
Food-I did not like any of the ala carte restaurants and would not recommend you miss a night at the buffet to go to any of them. We found the buffets to be quite nice and don’t know what people found to complain about there except there was not much beef and what there was, was so-so. The deserts are fantastic.
The steps-Being in very good shape I went thinking the steps were nothing but they are numerous and it’s HOT. We sometimes rode the shuttles.
People have talked about construction and the buildings being run down. We saw no construction but people were constantly painting while we were there. The walls they were painting were not run down or faded, this was maintenance, and for the place to be as immaculate as it is it has to be done sometime. The roof tiles are some type of clay or slate and give a slight rundown appearance but not much can be done about that.
I believe someone at Las Brisas is reading these reviews and correcting the things people complain about because we looked for the problems and could not find them.
My criticisms-I say these things reluctantly because we have traveled extensively and we loved it there. The oil they cook eggs and other fried foods in is gross. The mashed potatoes are wonderful all the rest need seasoning (my wife disagrees). Very slow drink service in the restaurants and tipping does not help. Underage drinking, too many 13 through 18 year olds drunk.
Final comments- Very very HOT tan before you go and take number 30 sun screen. Don’t lug beach towels down there. Learn a little Spanish, it so much fun to watch there faces when you try to talk to them. Feel free to Email with questions.

Just returned from a 7 night stay and had a great time.

Good things:
Rooms were spacious and beds/pillows were comfy.
Bathroom had two sinks and was large - nice shower.
Four villages spaced out - huge resort, but never felt huge.
Lots of activities - the tennis courts are awesome!!! Night tennis was especially nice. Ping pong, volleyball, kayaks, sailing - all complimentary and fun.
Having your own reef to snorkel without having to go anywhere was a special treat. Went snorkeling almost every day - saw tons of fish. We brought our own masks and used the complementary flippers.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The Malibu Rum was fantastic!
Check in and out was easy.
I no sooner would call for a shuttle from my room, walk outside and there it was - amazing how fast they were.
Lots of walking and stairs and hills - loved it though - good way to try and keep in shape after all the food and drink - the walk along the ocean is great - always spotted crabs and iguanas on the rocks.
Abundant bird-life.
Breakfast outdoors at the Mexican Restaurant was a treat.
Rented a motorcycle for 24 hours - $30. Awesome - drove to several of the surrounding towns and visited all of the bays in the area - just beautiful.
We could see the sunrise from our room - which is amazing to see on the Pacific Ocean side.
Beautiful bay to look out all - beautiful setting.
Didn't see much of the "saving" beach chair thing going on - could always find beach chairs no matter when we got to the beach.
Refrigerator in the room was always stocked everyday with 2 large beers, 2 sodas and 2 water bottles. One very large bottle outside the refrigerator. Plenty of bottled drinking water and you can always refill it if you run out by the water cooler at the lobby bar.

Things not so good:
Air-conditioning - it is very hot and humid and tons of sun. Our room never really cooled off very much. The buffet restaurant where you eat most of your meals at is not really air-conditioned - it was very hot to eat there most times.
The food is more authentic Mexican food vs. Americanized. I liked it, however many items in the buffet were overcooked and somewhat bland. I mostly did salads, fruit and desserts which were very good, however my husband goes for more of the main hot dish entrees and was very disappointed in the quality of the food.
The swimming pool is very warm - would be okay if you weren't always so hot as nothing was really air-conditioned so you couldn't really cool off. Even the nights are warm and humid. Usually took cold showers to cool off.

My wife and I have just completed two weeks at the Las Brisas. Shown as a 4 1/2 star in Canada...wrong...3 star at the most. Our problem is we have been to alot of resorts in Mexico and this one has a lot to learn. Bar area and pool dirty with no ongoing cleaning. Our delux room was a joke. We upgraded to a junior suite. Beach area never raked so you lived with the cigarette butts etc. We loved the area but next time we are staying at the Gala across the bay. Heard nothing but great reviews about the Gala from people staying there. As usual the Mexican people were outstanding.

las bresas huratulco mexico, nice enough placebut not a whole lot to do. tons of stairs steep slopes. shuttle carts sure helped, and i though i was in great shape.

advertized as 5 stars but much closer to 3 stars. food was average service was terrible, entertainment staff were the best part besides the tequila.

main town absolutely nothing there. nothing but t-shirts, some silver.
one tip, in town a place called la creme'a , some very unique pizza, in a very intimate setting.
overall for the money ok, hot sun, drinks, not much to do. just dont expect to much in the restaurants where food and service are concerned.
