this was my families 6th time going to Club Maeva. As you could probably tell by the 6th time you should be enjoying it.i was there for 9 days over mid winterbreak.. i am 17 years old and this is my favorite spot to go on vacation. the beach is great but we dont go very much because of the extreme heat after awhile. the pool is the largest in Latin America, its pretty huge. they have 5 pools; the main pool, a kiddie pool, 1 at the kids club, the adult pool, and one at the waterslides. the waterslides are great too for kids, i even had fun. the maevamigos are super awesome and all are nice, one from canada especially was awesome. they put on great shows at night for all ages, the only thing i would complain about and they know this is that the shows are the same every week, no variety so if you are staying for more than a week you will see the same shows twice. the tropical hut is good if you like to dance, and you can also take your kids with you.they have contests such as beer drinking, limbo, arm wrestling, and dance.. on the other hand if u love to dance and dont want your kids around and want to see contests like Singles, and mens and womens leg contests than the Boom Boom Disco is right next door. its really loud though so if you dont like loud music i would stay away. the last time i was in maeva was for thanksgiving just a few months ago and we were in the 700's, that was quite a walk. if you dont like stairs and they put you up there i would suggest telling them to change you. i would bring my stuff down that i needed for the day and made sure i didnt have to go back up, and im young! this time they put us in the 200's which is right next to the pool and it was amazing. the beds were not that comfortable but i am used to them and the kids dont usually mind but the room was always clean and no bugs! there is so much to do, they have a variety of sports that they do everyday at 5pm along with water aerobics in the morning and tequila volleyball and beach games. we enjoyed having drinks all day that were VERY good. i dont know why people say that the water would make you sick because its bottled water and tastes like regular water that is fine to drink. no time that i have been here have i gotten sick.
another thing is that the medical care at meava is awesome. my dad had a dizzy spell on a thursday and they rushed an ER doctor right over to the resort since there isnt a doctor that is always there, and we had to go to the hospital which was only 5 minutes away and he got a shot. it worked amazingly on him and they really do have great medical service. if u ever have to go to the hospital, dont expect an American Hospital its very small and somewhere you wouldnt want to go often.
i would recommend club maeva to everyone and i am planning on going back again later this year and i miss everyone so much already!
