We had a wonderful stay at La Posada. We thoroughly enjoyed the lack of fast paced activities. The staff was great. We really felt like we were at home. The other guests became like family!
The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The pool was very clean and refreshing.
Juans sister ,Clara, was especially accomodating. And Juan was willing to come all the way back to the hotel because I had a question, even though he was already out and about running errands.
We also enjoyed Antonios Restaurant which the hotel recommended.

Hotel La Posada is a small hotel with the basics. We stayed there with our teen and 8 year old. Our room was nice: 2 double beds and a bathroom with shower and small vanity area. Keep the air on if you travel june-july. It's hot and humid. bring bug spray. As in many tropical areas, there are bugs inside and out. We stayed 10 days and loved having no contact with the outside world (i.e., no tv, no phone). You can use the internet in the office for a small fee. Cantina is nice. Drinks (beer, sodas) are on the honor system but we ended up having a small fridge in our room because they were not very cold despite the ice in the large cooler. You can have staff make you some pretty decent drinks. We enjoyed the Navy excercising on the beach on tuesday and thursday from 7a-8a. The pool is very nice and very quiet. We stayed for 10 days and at one point were the only family there. We felt the morning staff was not very attentive or friendly. We loved Mida (Mayda??) who was usually there in the afternoon. She is a sweetheart. There are tours posted that she can arrange for you tho a bit pricey: party of 4 for 3hours of ATV waws $190 and a day of travel to El Salto by car was $160. You can check out others on the web and call from the hotel or have staff do it for you. If you like to relax and have quiet time, this is the place. As for other posts of the cleanliness of the beach, it had trash but also had interesting jellyfish, blowfish, and eels that washed up. You get to see awesome boats in the morning and afternoon and watch the locals fish. We miss it already and left just yesterday! I will attach photos soon

All in all we enjoyed it very much. Very peaceful, relaxing, great breakfasts, friendly staff. But...very annoying, disrupting noise all the time from the condos next door. And the beach was filled with litter, including a dead goat! Nice for retirees, older travelers, not much to do for kids.

......was wonderful. My wife and I are reluctant to tell anyone looking for a relaxing time, great sunsets and friendly staff that this is the time to visit La Posada, but we missed the gringos on spring break and the Mexicans at holy week. Essentially, we had the place to ourselves and felt very fortunate.

Mayra was great. She helped us with our spanish, poured drinks and assisted my wife in hiding easter candy she'd brought from home in the sala and kitchen. It was great fun hearing the responses from Clara, Rosa, Chui and the rest as the treats were discoved. Clara was very helpful in setting up our trip to the tortugaria. All in all it was a great time.
