I really loved staying at La Siesta and hope to go back very soon. The rooms are very clean with an airconditioner. The linens and towels are changed every day. With a balcony to sit on outside our room, the ocean view was gorgeous. The beach was clean and a good place to swim with no rocks. The place feels save and secure and the staff very friendly. I took my laptop and was able to use it in the room with no problem. Mazatlan is a beautiful place to go and La Siesta is the place to stay if you like to have a feel of the old Mexico without all the tourist.

Viva la Mexico and my first trip to Mazatlan, April, 2008.

Sometimes it seems, folks create their own problems.
If you don’t want to climb stairs, don’t stay on the third floor…
Unless, you want an amazing Pacific Ocean view and bird’s eye
view of the festive Mexican-Parade-a-Day.

Located above one of the most famous restaurants along the beach, if the front desk attendant can’t help, the boys and girl at The Shrimp Bucket are delighted to oblige.

Highly recommend their food, and once you get used to customs, you may just relax as well, sit there for a “couple of hours” and enjoy an excellent breakfast, lunch or dinner and view of the ocean. After all, you're on VACATION! English spoken and service is excellent and very fun!

Public transportation is available in front of the hotel, and cabs are plentiful and reasonable.

Reminiscent of a charming un-restored hotel you might find along South Beach in Miami, the maid service was unobtrusive and satisfactory as are the rooms. If you just can’t stand lumps, bring your own pillow. A giant banyan tree shades the lovely courtyard and if you prefer swimming in a pool as opposed to frolicking in the sea, La Siesta has a secluded and very clean one.

Be sure to reserve ocean front! You won’t regret it.

This is a MUST for any Travleler. Simple, Clean rooms with no bugs. The Hotel is secure, as we found the main doors were always locked and had to get in through the reception area. Not to noisey for us but could be for some. Book a room with an Ocean view is a must.

With in walking distance to the Historic Centro District.

We would stay here again.

Hotel is a two star by most ratings. That pretty much says it all. The location in the old town is the place to stay if you really want the flavor of Mazatlan. The bad part is the street directly between the hotel and the beach. It is quite noisy until about 2 am, I did not get a good nights sleep in the seven days we were there.

The Shrimp Bucket is a good place to eat. Internet access was poor in the room we had. I had to go into the hall to pick up the wireless service. The staff were friendly.

The ocean views were very nice, the main complaint was the noise,

Spent 3 days at the Hotel La Siesta in order to extend our scheduled 7-day stay at a timeshare property in the Golden Zone. Loved it!

Booked directly with the property from their web site (http://www.lasiesta.com.mx/ingles/index.htm) about 6 months' prior and got a very fair rate (I think it was $58/night oceanside) for high season (late Feb).

On check-in, which was very fast and easy, asked for and rec'd a top-floor (3rd floor) room. No elevator or escalator, which was OK with us. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Property is dated, but fairly well-maintained. Pool area out back is very inviting and offers good privacy (surrounded by high walls). Housekeeping was good. Did not eat on-site (we had done so on previous trips). Front desk was cheerful in serving our needs for frequent access to the safe deposit box.

Loved the location, great views out our windows, fun to be so close to the El Centro area. Took advantage of that to eat most of our meals in the Centro Mercado/Plaza Machado general area.

We'd definitely return, and definitely recommend this property for anybody who is not focused on lying on the beach.
