“The Good The Bad & The Ugly”

Las Flores Beach Resort

28 Apr 2008

First, the good. Hotel staff was very friendly, and housekeeping kept everything spotless. The Studio room we had was very spacious.

Second, the bad. Hotel room was terribly dim, outdated, and you could not view the ocean on the verandah while seated.

Lastly, the ugly. The beds. If you can comfortably sleep in a tent on the ground, you can sleep on the beds. If not, do not stay at this hotel. We had reservations for 7 days, and had to move to another hotel after 4 nights because of the beds. You will not save any money. We ended up spending twice as much money as we planned on because we had to pay for a second hotel.

We ended up staying at the Lindamor Suites, just a few doors down from the Las Flores, in a 1 bedroom suite, which was very nice, clean, private, quiet, and had a nice soft sofa.

Los Flores has a great location. It is in the Gold Zone. We had an ocean view and lovely balcony. The maid service was good and overall people were friendly. The only disappointing part of the trip was the "vulture" crew for selling timeshares. L. told us that we had to say we were single to get tickets to the Mexican fiesta and then when one person in my party didn't say that she was single then they would not issue the ticket. They stopped paying any attention to her and focused on me because I was divorced. They called and they harassed us for an entire day. I was unhappy about their treatment of my married friend and disappointed that they disrupted part of our stay. Avoid doing any tours on the condition that you will listen to their speil and pay the money for the fiesta on your own. They food and drinks are great! Los Flores needs to upgrade the pool and hot tub filtration system. We chose to leave and swim at Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan becuase of stuff floating in the water at Los flores. The bottom line is you get what you pay for. Los Flores is cheap and the service is adequate, the rooms are nice, location is great, pool YUCK!, food and drinks great!

Well my sons and I returned yesterday from Las Flores booked through Signature travel so I thought it might be prudent to let you know about some of the issues we faced. First even though my reservation for a room stated that there would be a pull out couch there was none and inquiring did nothing. The beds themselves are built on cement pads, no box spring and were so hard it's difficult to imagine. The beach chairs were worn out and did not have any cushions so, like the beds were very uncomfortable. The elevators came and went at glacial speed so bring a book while you wait. The air conditioning did not work. at all...
There is no icemachine for guests on any floor, the bar will grudgingly give you some but as always....the hairy eyeball for a tip. Bugs in rooms, bring something to kill them. I don't think they are harmful but they came back every day despite my best efforts.
Realizing it was Spring break did not prepare me for the crowds. Makes Mardi gras in New Orleans seem desserted. The staff are great and we did have clean sheets daily and lots of towels but I think the hotel needs to revamp. I'll go back to Mazatlan but likely won't be staying in Las Flores

“Back to my home away from home”

Las Flores Beach Resort

21 Mar 2008

I stayed at Las FLores for the third time this year. I am always happy to return to my second home....The staff is what makes this place so special. The bar and lobby staff always are happy to see you return.
The only problem I encountered this year was the cold weather...Not a problem of the hotel. It was cold even for a Canadian....That is saying alot because I am from Northern Manitoba...a very cold climate. I am glad I stayed for two weeks bcause it got warmer the second week.
Las Flores has the best beach in Mazatlan and I enjoy visiting with the locals. I had an oceanview kitchenette and I always find the kitchen handy. I made shrimp in my room and had a feast!!! I love the location of Las Flores right in the Golden Zone with everything you need nearby.
I would definitely stay there again!

We have stayed at Los Flores twice now.

We have found it to be wonderful! If people want luxury at a bargain basement price, please go elsewhere.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. If you don"t like their Espanol, go learn some! It will brighten your vacation immensely.

The beach is the best and the sunsets will stay with you forever.

There are restaurants and fun shopping places everywhere close by. Be adventurous and do a walk-about, it"s fun.

Sure the burning in the countryside is a problem and the nightly music noise is a concern. I'm bringing earplugs this time when we go back in two weeks.

The beds were great in the suites, and I have major back problems. I wanted to take mine home with me!

No matter where a person stays, they can find something to gripe about. My only gripe was that I couldn't stay longer.

The Mexican people that we have met have become like family to us and we will enjoy and look forward to seeing them again.
