We visited the Riviera Beach Hotel Resort for a week over the past New Year's. It was unfortunately disappointing. The staff are very nice but useless at getting things done and managing the lineups at check-in and check-out. They were very busy over the break and understaffed so it took a while to get drinks outside or to order dinner. If you book a 1bdrm suite, you're across the main road in a different commercial building so you have to dodge traffic to enter the resort. Hot water disappeared twice. Took a half day to fix. The food was also very dull and ranked lower than university residence food. Would definitely not recommend the all-inclusive. Bedding was damp and smelled mouldy; sheets were itchy and lack of screens on the doors mean bugs party everywhere with you, esp at night. Never been excited to get home from a vacation, and will never visit there again. I guess you get what you pay for - $1100 taxes incl. for all-inclusive... beware the 3star ranking - I guess in Mexico, ratings are different, as this resort would compare to 1 star in Canada- motels are even much cleaner!

I have stayed at the riviera many times and loved everyone of the visits.THe food and the service is very very nice> the hotel is very clean and the pool is clean!! Stay at the riviera.A wonderful hotel

Loved this hotel - mostly because of the excellent food and staff that is second to none.

Rooms were basic, but immaculate - pool and ocean view were excellent - Mexican choices on the menu were outstanding - serving staff was incredible!!!

Due to weather issues with our flight home, we stayed one night at the Playa Mazatlan - the Riveria is every bit as good, just smaller.

I stayed here expecting to receive so so service. However, upon arrival my boyfriend and I were upgraded to a suite and from then on we were treated great!! The hotel wait staff was extremely helpful and the restaurant had great food. I didn't notice the noise of the discos...usually I stay at budget hotels and I am all night partying, however this hotel was so relaxing that I ended up hanging out at the pool all day!!!! I highly recommend staying here!!!
