We "discovered" The Inn at Mantazlan by walking past looking for a nice restaurant for dinner. Instead we found a very talented entertainer and made a friend...and ate a delicious meal too. So my review is of the ambiance at Papagalo's Restaurant and Lounge, not the hotel itself. I do intend to investigate the hotel more for my next visit. The entertainer in the Lounge on Tuesday and Friday nights is named Andres, a young Latin singer who reminds one of Julio Iglasis at his prime. Andres is 23 but with a repotoire of Spanish and English tunes that everyone can enjoy. If you are in town, looking for great drinks in a very lovely palm-filled atmosphere, go to the lounge and try to catch Andres. You might want to call ahead and be sure about the nights he performs. It may change seasonably. Tell him Julaine and Bay said hello. Oh yes, the food was great too. The fish special and shrimp cocktail were both above average. Wonderful warm bread.

I took my family to Mazatlan there were 5 of us staying in a 2 bedroom at the Mayan Sea Garden until I could not stand the small rooms anymore. I got a 1 bedrom with 2 bath in the towers on the 13th floor and it was great. It was spacious and very clean. All staff was exceptionally helpful and attentive to our needs. The pools are busy but very nice. Sometimes there may be a problem with getting chairs but all is good. Service at the pool is great although I did miss a pool bar. The beach is a little rocky but no chairs on the sand and that disappointed me. I truly enjoyed my stay at the inn and am looking forward to going again soon. Try it out! My son and his girl took a room in the older section, it was well kept and clean but older and not redone. All in all things were great.

The ocean is NOT an azure blue, but it IS supprisingly warm. Stay off the "banana boat" ride (it is towed by a speedboat and it capsizes easily). Security of the Inn at Mazatlan and for that matter of the "Gold Zone" is obviously quiet but efficient. But do not wander too far, particularly alone. The Papagayo is a good restaurant, and even has good jazz in the evenings, but you may tire rather quickly of Mahi Mahi, and shrimp. However, there is a giant Burger King on the Camaron (and an identical McDonalds). Service on the beach is precise, but slow. It has two pools, one expressly for children; however, no one will be watching them, either there or in the ocean, as their lifeguard seems to be guarding no one's life except his own. It's a good place to have a quiet time, and, yes, discos are close by, and expecting you, if you prefer a loud time. Oddly, the milk there is bland tasting (powdered?), whereas the milk from the markets across the street is actual milk. Pay for the stuff you get with pesos, as American currency will only have to be converted at a loss. It has a nice gym if you want it, and key staff, particularly the concierge, are fluent in English. Do not expect anyone who does not need to to speak it. Say "hi" to Luis for me!

“Great Hotel”

Inn at Mazatlan

I have been vacationing at The Inn for over 15 years and there is no where else I would rather go. The staff, the rooms, the restaurant and the pools are all exceptional. From the time you walk through the front door you are treated with respect and the staff remembers you year after year and they make sure that you remember them. Anyone debating on staying here shouldn't hesitate to make their reservations. There may be some negative comments from other people about the rooms or the beds, but how much time do you spend in the room? The important part of the stay here is the poolside service and the great location to the beach and the golden zone. I would highly reccomend The Inn for anyone traveling to Mazatlan.

“Nice Place, Nice Pool area”

Inn at Mazatlan

We just returned from a 6 day stay at the Inn at Mazatlan. The hotel was better than expected after reading some of the reviews. We stayed in the older part, that had 5 stories, and not the towers....which was supposed to be the nicer part. The hotel was very clean and our room was very ok for the price. We were pleased with the room and the wonderful view and atmosphere from the balcony. Our only problem came from our credit cards being stolen from our room on the first day there. They were taken from my purse, that was hidden in our room. The rooms had a key entry, not the plastic card entry kind. We found out that anyone could open our door very easily, even though it locked behind us as we left, by slipping something into the crack. We were alerted by our credit card companies as the people who took them were charging thousands of dollars on them around Mazatlan. The staff acted concerned, but nothing happened. Just be aware, if you stay here.
