Stayed here in late September for my wife's birthday. The concierge (Arturo) helped plan a surprise for her, by having the room filled with ballons, flowers and a cake. It was awesome and he did a great job. I can't say enough nice things about all the staff, and the concierge in particular.

However, the hotel is in truth, just "nice." It's kind of Marriottesque. Safe, clean and comfortable without really engaging your senses in any way. The minibar and room service were very very expensive too which was a let down for Mexico.

So, overall, it's a nice place to be, without really being amazing in any one sense.

I discovered this hotel on Expedia in January, and since then I have returned about six times to this hotel. I do continue to book through Expedia, because the rates are considerably discounted.

Service: excellent in all areas of the hotel.

Business facilities: good wireless and LAN connections in each room. Good business center facilities for copying or printing. Meeting rooms are also available in the business center.

Gym/spa: very good, small gym with treadmills, bicycles, stair stepper, and weights. Great view of the Chapultepec castle from the gym. No fee for guests. The gym is located right next to the spa, which offers massages and other spa services. For a fee, guests can use the locker room, which has both a steam room and sauna. There is also a hot tub in the spa area.

Dining: room service is good. The menu is kind of limited, but if you get tired of the options, there is a Camino Real within three blocks that has a variety of restaurants. And if you want even more variety, the La Condesa neighborhood is very close by, with a variety of restaurants.

I would highly recommend this hotel for business travelers or even tourists. The Chapultepec park is just right across the street, and the museum of anthropology is within walking distance, as are other art museums within the park.

When reserving, or checking in, see if you can get a room with a view of the Chapultepec castle. Some of the rooms have a great view.

Stayed here or 1 night in March. A very nice hotel located at the edge of the park. There is not too many restaurants within walking distace of the hotel. Rooms were very large and looked newly renovated.

Used the health club at the top of th ehotel and it was not large but had good facilities. A minus however that they wanted to chargeme to use the jacuzzi. All in all a good business hotel.

My first business trip to Mexico City, April 2-5. A colleague had recommended the Fiesta Americana and I was not at all disappointed. I had a junior suite that over looked Chapultepec Park. The room was clean, quiet and very confortable. I found the staff to be very helpful and eager to please. The hotel was within walking distance of all of the great restaurants and shops in Polanco. Most importantly I felt safe at all times. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there any time I return to Mexico City.
