Just returned from Oaxaca, where we stayed at the Aitana for four nights during the Christmas-New Years peak week. Everything else in our price range was booked, so I was nervous about the Aitana, but it worked out fine. Rooms comfortable, beds firm, lighting excellent for reading, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast food and service just fine. Location is not bad--within walking distance of the Zocalo and Santo Domingo, although Crespo is a busy noisy street. Street lighting could have been better, but we felt safe. Beautiful rooftop patio, although without a stick of furniture when we were there. Be sure to ask for a room away from the street.
