“AMAZING!!! Worth Every Penny!!”

Cancun Palace

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at the cancun palace (29th june-9th july), me and my boyfriend went together (both 21) and thought it was absolutely amazing! we could not fault a single thing, the hotel is beautiful and v. clean, rooms are great - v.comfy beds and huge jacuzzi (exactly like the thomson brochure shows), pool is really big and so warm, and pool bars are great for cocktails, nachos, etc all day long!! all inclusive at this hotel means all inclusive...everything is included including premium spirits like absolute vodka, jack daniels etc! the staff and the mexican ppl in general are exceptionally friendly and cannot do enough to make your stay fantastic, and although we did give tips sometimes there was never any pressure or obligation felt (unlike some reports id heard about other hotels)! the food is absolutely amazing, theres a buffet restaurant which has a huge choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, great italian where the food is so good it could be a top chef, oriental with great food and great evening if you go to the tepanyaki show tables, and last but not least the mexican where we had fantastic service with guacamole even made from scratch by the waiter at our table!! the hotel is right on the beach (try and get a sea view room), and although the beach isn't massively wide its pure white sand and crystal clear water (also v. warm and great fun in the huge waves)! hotel is in a great location, bus is 35p to go anywhere, with shops and party zone only a few mins down the road! coco bongos is a great night out - definately the most random place iv ever been to (in a good way)!! if you go to any of the clubs its best to go with the hotel, you get a free coach there, Q jump, and you're own private area with waiters all night!! a tip if you book any tours, we booked them from the la isla shopping mall marina and it was quite a bit cheaper than the tour operator (thomson) rates esp. if you book multiple tours! my boyfriend also played golf at the moon palace which was much cheaper by going directly to the moon rather than booking at the cancun palace! i have to say that the cancun palace was far nicer than the moon palace, the moon is just too big and the CP is newer, cleaner, and in a better location! cancun is the best of both worlds with the carribean beaches/sea but also lots to do including tours, shopping, and partying if you want! this is the first review iv ever written but really wanted to do this hotel justice and say how fantastic it is - i will definately be recommending to all my friends/family and hopefully return at some point!!

“Dirty Pool”

Cancun Palace

9 Jul 2008

We arrived june 9 for a stay of 5 days, (WE ONLY STAYED 1 DAY) I'll tell you why later. We are a family of 5 -2 adults and 3 children. ages 6,9,13. we arrived around 1:30pm they immediatey greeted us with cool drinks and towel. I read the reviews for this resort and the Moon Palace faithfully but i chose this resort because it was a little smaller and the kids would have a little independance.
Rooms -we were given connecting rooms on the 3rd floor with a view of the pool and ocean. Very nice rooms and verrrry clean!!!! I understand previous reviews that mentioned don't get a room near the elevator you can hear everything, but hey my kids didn't complain when your tired it doesn't matter.
Food- I was addicted to the salsa and the chips. We dined at Kimonos, we made reservations about 7:30pm at the hibachi table the kids loved the show. We didnt go to any other restaurants because we left the next day. we did eat at one of the breakfast buffets - omelets very tasty!!!
Kids Club- My kids favorite experience was the kids club. even my 13 year old did not want to leave they enjoyed the art sand crafts, the games ,ping pong and the trampoline. They chose this place over the pool. I think it was the ice cream and there private dine in area just for the kids.
Now I Can Tell You Why I Left:
The Pool- from a distance it looked nice but close up there were cups left in the pool very dirty. (my kids and i swan right past something that looked like vomit i tried to ignore it but my kids saw it, they would not get back in the pool after that). I remember reading many reviews of people stating the pool was dirty and does not get cleaned, boy were they right!!! after seeing what the pool looked like i could not imagine spending the next 5 days with the possibility of the pool looking the way it did. So we tried to check out that same day. The check-in desk was very accomodating and tried very hard to help us. we were able to get a connectiong room at the Moon Palace the very next morning. One final thing My husband and i celebrated our 13th year wedding anniversary june 10th the resort surprised us in our room with champagne and chocolate cake(even though they knew we were leaving the next day. I say this to say- this resort is nice i think it is geared toward adults a little more then to kids. Our biggest complaint may not be yours- we are not ocean folks we love the pool this was not the place for us.

First let me start by thanking my travel agent “Paige” she was able to do a few little Favors for my husband 40th birthday, I also wanted to thank Gisselle Arango for working with my travel agent to make our stay wonderful.

We stayed at Cancun Palace on June 22nd – 26th. There was a group of us who went to Cancun 6 couples from “H-Town” (Houston, Texas). We booked our stay at Cancun Palace in early January of 08’. Check-in was smooth, we got champagne, cool towels, and flower. We stayed here before and after reading some of the bad reviews at the new Cancun Palace I was kind of scared, but after seeing it myself some of the reviews are true and some are not true, like:....

The Room: We had an ocean view room on the 7th floor room #776. The view was amazing. Our room was awesome! The view was gorgeous! The room was very clean. The bed was too hard for me but that’s just me I like my bed soft. It was a bit noisy in the morning with the cleaning people making a lot of noise at 8am in the morning outside our door. There is not a DO NOT DISTURB sign anymore because they changed it out with two switches by your door which I think it’s great! You just push the button to let the maid services know if you want your room clean or not (RED light means) “Do Not Disturb” (GREEN light means) “Please clean my room” very simple. Your extra key card will control the lights in your room.

The Food: Wasn’t all that great (just breakfast was good) in the buffet area. We ordered room services one morning and our eggs were over cook, wasn’t good at all, YUK!...

The burgers were okay but the buns tasted old. The steaks were okay but I’ve had better. But I had to keep telling myself “It’s FREE”… The Japanese restaurant food was excellent, even the services was great!!!

The Drinks: Watered down!!! But the shots we were taking were making up for the watered down drinks we was drinking out there. If you do decide to get a drink just make sure you ask for a “double”. Nancy was our favorite waitress she was so nice and so very helpful, always had a smile on her face wasn’t dry like the other waitresses there. Thanks Nancy!!!

The Entertainment: Was HORRIBLE!!!

Karaoke – Did not see anyone doing any singing.

Music – Was the worst!!! Managers my suggestion to you is to entertain your guests with a variety of music. Like: Hip-Hop; Rock; Country; Latin; R&B; Soul; or even hired a DJ to play different kinds of music to entertain there guest, because a lot of the guest there was bored (like us) with the music they was playing. We didn’t see any of the entertainment staff that will take us on a bus to different clubs every night; they must have been off that week when we were there…

The Shows – Didn’t like it.

The Pool - Was great very clean! Until a kid decided to pee in the pool…lol Parents watch your kids please because there were a lot of angry folks out there after that happened…The entertainment was great. Nice fashion show & daily activities.

The Spa: I really enjoy the spa. The staff was nice, I received a sport massages which was fantastic I was so relaxed after I left there.

We did Bar Hopping which was a lot fun until we got to the club called “The City” it wasn’t our type of crowd, so we left! Overall, we had an excellent time in Mexico. Cancun Palace was a beautiful place but I know next year we are planning to stay at an all adult resort with more entertainment.…

“Great choice for families!”

Cancun Palace

We stayed here for 8 days this June. Everything was as good or better than we had hoped.

Check in: It went very well. We received an ocean front room. Greeted warmly but it was only 11:30 so we had to wait an hour or so until the room was ready. We went and had a snack until then.

Room: Lovely and always cleaned properly. We were never awakened for them to come in to clean as one reviewer stated. The drawback was it was very near the elevator and a bit noisy on occasion.

Food/drinks: We enjoyed all the food. Drinks were good. I couldn't get a Mojito at all though due to lack of the resort having any fresh mint. Trust me, I found other replacements :)

Staff: one of the best parts...friendly and the service was awesome. My ten year old stated early on "they sure are nice here"

Spa: We had one couples massage which was awesome, and the free services for members were great bonuses.

Beach/pool: The beach was small but it existed and thank goodness! It truly was beautiful. We visited the Moon on our stay and I'm glad we didn't stay there due to their beach. It's just not what I'm looking for in a tropical beach vacation. Pools were clean too. The Beach Palace pools were also worth visiting.

Tours: We did a lot of included tours and loved them. The ferry ride to Isla was hysterical with Isla Palace staff, but I don't recommend the added cost tour around the island once you get there. It's really boring and costs extra money.

:( The biggest problem was check out when they insisted on charging us twice for the same boring tour, but after we returned home it was taken care of.

Ask any questions if you have them and I'll try to help...Stay here if you are considering it!
