We originally booked through First Choice Holidays to stay at the Blue Bay Club in Cancun, which we did for 4 nights and then were offered the free upgrade to Temptations. Althout the Blue Bay was superb, it was more of a family hotel, and having moved to Temptations we never regretted anything. The hotel lobby staff were very helpful, you receive towel cards and booking forms for the al a carte restaurants. The room was fabulous, a little amused by the sexy light but it was spacious. Have a little look at channel 12! Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding. The maids like to make swans and hearst out of the towels which was lovely. The room has a mini bar stocked daily with beer, water and soft drinks - this is complimentary as was the use of the safety deposit box. The hotel has a main buffet restaaurant for breakfast and all the meals throughout the day. There are four al a carte restaurants in the complex which you have to make a reservation for on the day in which you want to go. They say from 10am - 12pm, however people started to queue from about 9:30am. The restaurants consist of a tex mex, Chinese and an Italian. There was a fourth restaurant however it was closed due to the hotel not being 70% full. The beach has delighful sofa type chairs and beds on draped with sheets. We spent most of our time around the quiet pool, as the bar was not so busy and some of the activities around the sports and sexy pool were a little too 'naughty' for us - thus adults only - however it is all in good fun and nobody forces anybody to do anything, We had premium drinks all throughout our stay, although we had not paid for them. This included sparking wine. The beach staff were great and we were taught how to sail, again all included. There are some guests who think that they are gods gift as they have a gold wrist band, however we had access to all the same services and facilities that they did - perhaps as we are English. The staff work so hard and I really cannot fault this hotel - the food and drink and entertainment is amazing! Go and see for yourselves, you will not be dissappointed.

Location: The hotel is a little further away on the northwest side of the strip. Bus for getting to and from the party zone took less than 10 minutes. There does not seem to be a large shopping center or mall around the area. The marina and ferry that takes you to Isla Mujeres is nearby.

Rooms: The hotel has been recently renovated and everything seems newer and clean. We paid extra for the Jacuzzi room and it was worth it. Our room is near the quiet pool and we enjoyed the quietness after a long day of partying at the sexy pool area. The housekeeping does a great job of cleaning the room everyday.

Staff: The activities staff were the best. They kept us entertained with shows and activities throughout the day. There was always something to do including poolside shows, volleyball, water sports. They were a lot of fun and made the resort unique compared to other resorts in the strip.

Restaurants: Food is very important and I thought their specialty restaurants were great. We ate at the Chinese and Italian restaurant and the food was very good. There was a large variety at the buffet everyday, but the breakfast seem to be similar. Overall, we were very satisfied with the food.

Amenities: The hotel has three pools which includes the sexy pool, sports pool, and quiet pool. Their name explains the pool's character. The sexy pool is where all the activities occur. We would spend our days at the sexy pool or on the beach next to the pool. There is a DJ mixing music and activities/shows occurring throughout the day. The beach is more like a lagoon and had seaweeds. It worked for us, because we were tired of the typical strong cancun waves on the east side of the strip. The smooth water of the beach provide for better windsurfing. If you are looking for something to do at night, there is a small disco and billiards room with Wii machines. The fitness room is also very nice on the 2nd floor.

Summary: Overall, our visit to the hotel was excellent. Do not expect a 5 or 4 star hotel, but rather a place with great atmosphere. I would describe it as something out of the show "Wild on E" they had a few years back. It felt like a party everyday at the pool and beach. The people there were very open-minded and everyone was really nice. Cancun is my favorite vacation spot and this was the only year we did not go with friends. Even though it was just the wife and I, we had one of our best vacations. We will probably be back again next year!

My wife and I were already in Cancun at another resort for a week, and decided to tack on a couple of days at the end to go to Temptation. It was a weird experience.

The room was in bad shape. Out of toilet paper and tissue, no hairdryer, no glasses. It smelled bad. The safe was broken and no one in the hotel could open it. Lights didn't work. Sheets on backward on the bed. That sort of thing. The TV did have porn.

The resort was bought out about a year ago (it's all-inclusive), and the rules the management have established are just plain odd. Example: The pool bar closes everyday at 4p. Closed until tomorrow. To get a drink after 4p, you have to physically get out of the pool to get it. The pool and beach close at 9p. Imagine having one pool at a tropical resort and closing it at 9p for the night. It was crazy. What they want you to do is go into Cancun every evening, because they have arrangements with the clubs there, and for a hefty fee, they will take you there and bring you back. Of course, that means you don't use any of their facilities or staff, or eat and drink at the resort (which you have already paid for).

The restaurants have really odd hours, closing for hours at a time, yet staying open until 5:00 in the morning. The "classy" restaurants have a reservation system where you all gather in a big room at 10a every morning and one-by-one personally walk up to a desk and request the restaurant for that evening. A simple phone call would suffice, or even better, an online reservation system.

Of course, they pressure you to buy a time share, using the usual tactics. if you have been through this before, it's no big deal, but we met several new couples who were pretty intimidated by it. Hey, "no means no". Period.

The guests are allowed to be topless around the pool and the beach, and the resort tends to attract young, beautiful people, but it was an unusual combination of lifestylers, young married couples, a large group of gay men from England (?), and assorted characters.

We won't be going back. It just seems like the resort doesn't know what it is doing, what crowd it wants to attract or how best to serve the clothing-optional group.

My husband and I just returned from Temptations which was highly recommended by a relative. We wanted an all inclusive, adults only resort as we are both HS/MS teachers with 2 teenagers of our own. This turned out to be one of the best vacations ever. We are in our early 50's, married 23 years and had the time of our lives. We relaxed, partied on the resort ,ate good food and drank LOTS of tequila. There was always something entertaining happening whether it was a planned activity at the "sexy pool" or just people watching. The grounds were nice, with 3 pools, containig jacuzzi's, 3 gormet restaurants and 1 buffet, and of couse bars everywhere, at least 5 aside from the ones inside the eateries. The staff was great and always gave service with a smile. ( Miss you Oliver) Their mission was clearly to keep their customers happy and drunk. The drinks were a little weak at first but if you tipped the bartenders they remembered you as well as what you drink. We are very much looking forward to our next trip there, hopefully in December for New Years Eve. We intend to bring some of our other teacher friends both married and single. I must admit that I did try some different things while I was there such as pole dancing, dancing in a cage, (both inside the disco on site), and karaoke. We met lots of very nice people, many of which had been there many times before. Do not be put off by other reviews involving swinging or anything like that. I read many, many reviews before we went. Surely that was going on, but the vacation will be what you make of it. We made it great!
